It was somewhat quiet on the water's surface. All that was heard was waves of water crashing over each other and the roaring of thunder overhead. Rain slowly started to fall from the clouds that had appeared suddenly. Kwazii and Peso both looked up.
"We should probably start heading back," Kwazii suggested, shutting the GUP and preparing to go back under. Peso sat up and glanced at the control panel.
"It's just a bit of rain. No big dea-" he started before pulling up the weather radar. The storm was just moving in their direction.
"Never mind," Peso groaned. Kwazii looked down at the screen just to see a massive chunk of what was rain, according to the radar.
"That doesn't look good," he said, looking up at Peso.
"Yeah, it doesn't. Setting a course for home," Peso said, and just as he was about to do that, Kwazii grabbed his hand.
"That won't be needed. I've got this, don't worry," he said. Peso froze, his eyes widened.
"Uh, all right!" he said, his voice shaking slightly. Kwazii shot Peso a confused glance.
"You all right, matey?" he asked, noticing Peso's shaking voice.
"Everything's fine," Peso insisted, brushing it off. Kwazii slowly turned his attention back to the route he was talking.
"All right, just tell me if somethings wrong, okay?" he demanded. Peso sighed and looked up at Kwazii.
"I know. I'm fine," he insisted.

As they started their route, Peso looked away for just a second. There were so many thoughts running through his head at once.

Wait he touched my hand

He touched my hand

We technically held hands, right?

Peso sat there, completely flustered. Kwazii glanced over at him, catching a glimpse of Peso's face.
"You all right?" he questioned once again.
"Yup, totally fine," Peso said, trying to convince Kwazii, but he wasn't buying it.
"You're obviously not fine. What's up?" Kwazii asked again.
"I'm fine, I swear," Peso stated.
Kwazii exhaled quietly. "I'm just a bit nervous about you."
"I should be nervous about you, you're the one driving at eight at night," Peso said. Kwazii was just about to defend himself, but he stammered.
"Eh, you have a point," he spat.
"Just pay attention to what's ahead of you, I really don't want to die tonight," Peso stuttered.
"I am paying full attention to what's ahead of me," Kwazii added.

By the time they made it back to the Octopod, they both were hysterical messes.
"What got into you two? Are there secret side effects that make you laugh hysterically when you get struck by lightning?" Tweak asked, standing in the launch bay. Peso opened his mouth to say something, but he just kept on laughing.
"I'm trying to explain, but I can't stop laughing!" he exclaimed through laughter.
"What did he say?"
"I'm not saying."

Tweak threw her arms into the air.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"I'm not telling you!" Peso said, removing his hands from his knees. "Why not?"
"It's embarrassing!" he added. Peso then tried to run away back to the HQ to avoid the question again, leaving Kwazii behind. Kwazii and Tweak both looked at each other.
"I'm not saying anything," Kwazii said before also rushing out of the launch bay. Tweak just watched him go. To be honest, she didn't really care about knowing what they were laughing about now. She just prayed it wasn't anything stupid.

It was getting pretty late, and just before they shut off the lights in the HQ, Peso came rushing in.
"Oh you guys are- I'll be right back, then," he said, noticing how they were about to shut down the lights.
"I can just talk to you after you guys do this," Peso said, waving his hands around frantically. Barnacles and Dashi both looked at the medic, and then shut down the lights.

"Peso, did you say you wanted to talk about something?" Barnacles asked, pulling Peso aside after the three left the HQ. Peso inhaled sharply, then exhaled.
"You aren't going to believe what he did," he said. Barnacles covered his mouth.
"What'd he do?" he asked. Peso tightened his fists so hard his knuckles turned white.
"He held my hand!" he squealed. Barnacles looked at Peso as if he didn't believe it.
