Chapter 40

Mckenzee:
My phone vibrated under my pillow and I quickly silenced it but as soon as it stop ringing it started again.

I assumed it was my mom since we've only texted since Abel and I had left a few days ago but when I looked at the screen, I saw Melody face timing me.

"Hey Mel." I answered groggily as I sat up. "What's up?"

"We're you sleep?"

"Yeah."

"What time is it there?"

"Um..." I checked the time on my phone. "Eight AM."

"Damn, I shoulda checked before I called you." She laughed. "It's ten PM here."

"It's cool, I wanted to get up before Abel anyways."

"Why?"

"Hold on."

Abel looked like he was still sleep but knowing him he was probably listening to our conversation.

I got up and went into the bathroom and propped my phone up so I could talk to Mel as I brushed my teeth.

"I have a whole day planned for us, we're going to have breakfast then go swimming with the dolphins and later on we're gonna have dinner on the beach."

"Aaaw, thats so sweet!"

"Then tonight I'm gonna break out some of that lingerie and-"

"Wait, you guys haven't done it yet Kenzee?! It's been three days!"

"I know, I know, but tonight's going to be the night."

"Are you still nervous?"

"Not really, I just have to be the one in control of the situation and that's what I plan to do."

"Okay then Mrs.Tesfaye!"

"You're so annoying." We both laughed as I grabbed my phone and left out the bathroom and went to the kitchen. "So Abel and I have been talking about seriously moving to LA."

"What?! You can't leave me here!"

"You should come too! I mean, I'm pretty sure Lamar is going to want to come so why not you too?"

"Eh, I don't know. I never really thought about living somewhere else."

"I think you should take a gap semester and come with us. If you like it you can apply to UCLA and we can go to school together!"

"That sounds like a good idea but how are we gonna survive?"

"I have my scholarship money and Abel still has money in his savings. If we find a place together we can split everything four ways, or you and I can live on campus and Lamar and Abel can get a place that way we can save a little bit."

"Hmm, I'ma have to think about that. It would be fun to get outta here for a while."

"I think it'd be really fun with-"

Abel wrapped his arms around me from behind and kissed the side of my face.

"Good morning baby."

"Good morning."

He started to kiss the back of my neck and I gently nudged him.

"I'm on facetime with Melody."

"Well tell her you need to go." He mumbled against my neck. "I've got plans for us today."

"Wait, but I have plans for us today."

"Aaw you guys both planned stuff!" Melody laughed. "I'll call you later Zee."
