I was sitting on the hood of Melody's car, waiting for her to come out the school when my phone started to ring.
I took it out my pocket and smiled when I saw that it was Abel calling.
I answered. "Hey baby."
"Hey." He smiled back. "Guess what?"
"What?"
"We're on our way to the airport. We'll be back late tonight."
"Ooh yay! I can't wait to see you!"
"Me neither, I miss you like crazy."
"I miss you too. What time will you land?"
"Like one in the morning."
"I'll stay up and wait for you."
"You'll be at your parent house right?"
"Yeah."
"Alright, I'll come there."
"Okay, I love you."
"I love you too baby. See you later."
I blew him a kiss before the both of us hung up.
"Hey, you been out here for a while?" Melody asked as she walked up to the car.
"Just like an hour. I didn't feel like going to last period."
"Why? Did something happen?"
"Nah, I just got a lot on my mind." I said as I hopped off the hood of the car. "Let's go."
Melody was going to take me to the courthouse so I could get a protective order against Jeremiah. He hadn't really been bothering me the last few days but I still wanted to file one as a precaution.
"When's Abel coming back?"
"That was him I was just talking to, he'll be back tonight."
"Ooh yay!"
"I know, I miss him so much."
"I can imagine. I miss Lam-" She cut herself off. "I mean..."
"Wait, you miss Lamar? Are you guys dating?"
"Um kinda."
"Since when?!"
"Since before Christmas."
"Wow! How come you never told me?!"
"It's not that serious."
"You're bluffing!"
"I'm noooot! We just talk, that's it."
I laughed. "Yeah, whatever."
When we got to the courthouse, we walked inside and the woman in the lobby directed us to where I could fill out the paper for a protective order.
We sat down and I chewed on my bottom lip as I started to answer the question.
