• Ana's POV •

I couldn't sleep for shit. Well, I didn't even have a proper bed. Throughout my emotional breakdown, I found my way to the roof of the hotel and just stayed up there to try and clear my head. Obviously that didn't help. Then we have a noon game right now so I might as well start making my way towards the arena.

I didn't even go to the team breakfast or leave with them from the hotel. This meant I had to find my own way. Thank god I have an hour. I quickly got dressed into my Team USA attire and stopped by the cafeteria to get a water and an apple. The arena was legit 30 minutes away walking so I know I'd make it on time.

On my way there I realized just how awkward it would be since me and Adam weren't talking. This had never happened! We were usually the two that were rarely mad at eachother. We were also both assistant captains. Fuck my life right now! Can this day be getting any worse.

I guess I was doing a lot of thinking to myself because next thing I knew, I was already at the door that led to the locker room. Okay just breathe Ana and you will be fine. I expected it to go quiet when I walked in but instead I was greeted with a bunch of hello's and everything. Honestly, it felt like nothing was different. That all changed when I got to my locker and remembered it was next to Adam's, who was still getting ready. Just by looking at him he looked like he hadn't gotten much sleep at all. I wonder if I look like that? Hope not. The moment he saw me he gave me this look of sadness but quickly changed it to one of anger. As if he remembered why he was mad at me in the first place. Without another glance I put on my headphones and blasted my music as I got ready. This was always a pre game ritual. Even though I showed up late, I had gotten ready quite quick and decided to go outside to start warming up since half of the team was already out there. Who are we even going against? Wait! Holy shit! Isn't it the finals?! How could I have been so stupid and forgotten! That's right! We're going against Iceland.

When I finally reached the rink I noticed Stefan right away. He was leading his team into warmups, just like Adam was leading our's. I calmly skated to the Ducks and joined them. Trying to concentrate on anything but that. This game is really important, therefore we need to win.

Just as we were about to start I looked up into the stands and saw my parents next to Adam's parents. All I could do was smile and try so hard not to cry. I hadn't even noticed that Adam was next to me, staring at them as well.

" You know Ana, I really should hate you right now but you're my best friend and I love you and I can't do that. ", Adam said as he grinned down on me.

Without saying anything I just hugged him really tight. I just couldn't put into words how happy I was that I had my best friend back, and just in time for the game.

" Come on Cake eaters! Let's show them what we got! ", Charlie yelled at us. I noticed that Adam and Stefan were facing off and that there was no way in hell that Adam would lose anything against him. Let the games begin.

* End of 3rd period . Tied 4-4 *

It's been a hell of a tough game. Probably the hardest I've ever played. Adam and Stefan haven't stopped fighting with many visits to the penalty boxes. But now we're going to shootout and Adam is taking all 3 shots. While Stefan is taking Iceland's shots.

Adam scored his first two. Stefan scored the first one but barely missed the second shot. It all depends on Adam's next shot. Whether we win or we lose. The whole arena was quiet as he skated down the ice. And then we heard it.
