India. A land of diversity, and different cultures, and unique lifestyles. A place where everyone is different, and knows the world differently.

We all have heard FM radio right? In our car journey if you don’t have any Radio it can be so tedious.
I remember the time when we used to have a Radio set at home, the Transistor. Listening to the songs tuned on it while we work on different things. At those times, not only songs but Movies were also heard on the Radio. Even Today at times, I do tend to listen to FM Radio. My mother prefers it over Spotify at times ( don’t tell her I told you though).
The difference is now it is on my phone, rather than the old small transistor that used to catch not just FM waves but Short and Long Range Waves as well.

Radio is a device we all are familiar with, but there was a time before when Televisions were not common and a luxury. Radios were the main source of news and entertainment for almost everyone.
The UN recognised this fact which is why February 13 was first celebrated by UNESCO in 2011 as Radio Day.
Next year in 2012 it was hailed as the International Radio Day by the UN General Assembly. And ever since then, 13th February has been known as World Radio Day.
This year’s theme includes Evolution, Innovation and Connection of the Radio and the world along it.

Mine will always be, blasting songs on the radio while I worked on my art projects, back when life was simple.
