Hazrat Ali named Ali-ibn Abu Talib was born on the 13th Rajjab of the Islamic calendar, which falls on 25th February of this year. He was born within the boundaries of the Holy Kabba.
Hazrat Ali is a revered person of Islam, some considered him to be the first male to adopt Islam as a religion, and accept Mohammad is the prophet of God.

Hazrat fought alongside Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) while they lived in Mecca. He was a cousin of the prophet and later on married Prophet Mohammad’s daughter Fatimah and became his son-in-law.
Though the different sects differ on the way they respect Hazrat Ali, especially Shia and Sunni. All sects acknowledge the fact that Hazrat Ali was a devoted Muslim, and a great ruler.
He was one of the first four Caliphs of Islam and ruled till 661 AD. He was martyred while offering Namaz, which is said to be a great honour in Islam.
Muslim countries around the world celebrate this day with great enthusiasm. In India, the day is celebrated by Muslims, by decorating Mosques and celebrating Hazrat Ali’s life by praising his achievements. People gather in Mosques and sing Nath’s in his praise, and many households make a feast on this occasion.
