Be honest, how many of us have seen young children working in shops, construction sites and in many other places? I am sure at least some of us have seen that at least once. Many many years ago, it wasn't like that. It was common to see children, as young as the ages of nine or eleven working hard in various places, and being exploited. Since then, various organisations have worked together to ensure some safety for these children. Many governments have established some rules to ensure that the children aren't forced to work and instead, get educated like the other kids of their age.

Anti Child Labour Day, also known as The World Day Against Child Labour is one of the ways to achieve that.

The World Day Against Child Labour is an International Labour Organization (ILO) sanctioned holiday. It was first started in 2002, with an aim to raise awareness among the people regardless child labour, and the activities to prevent the same.

Observed by the United Nations members, the World Day Against Child Labour is held every year on June 12, with an intention to help and encourage the development of the worldwide movement against child labour.

One of the bodies of the United Nations, the International Labour Organization (ILO) controls the world of work. This very labour organization started the World Day Against Child Labour in 2002 to bring attention and awareness to this major topic, and combine people's efforts to fight against an issue which exploits children's skills and denies them the opportunity to get proper education, and prosper in their lives.

Every year on June 12, various governments, non governmental organizations (NGOs), local authorities, societies both international and civil, many organisations of workers and employers come together as a single united force to point out the problem regarding the child labour issue, and define several and important guidelines to help the child labourers.

According to the date of the International Labour Organization, hundreds of millions of young boys and girls, throughout this world, work as child labourers. These children, in every part of our precious world are deprived of receiving an adequate education, health, leisure, basic freedoms and also fundamental rights when we talk about our country. Their basic rights are violated each and every day, and even right now as we talk about this topic. Moreover, more than half of these children and engaged in the worst forms of child labour, and many others are in the way of exposure of some of the worst forms like working in hazardous environments, slavery, other forms of forced labour, illegal activities such as drung trafficking and even prostitution. Some of them are even involved in armed conflicts.
