An ornate event of festivities, colourful sprees, savoury cuisines, captivating musical performances, fashion shows and much more, the Shimla Summer Festival greets you with a spectacle of the 'Himalayan Queen'.

What is the Shimla Summer Festival?
This festival has been celebrated every year since the 1960s. The festival is celebrated by the end of May or the beginning of June. But from last year, it was celebrated on 2nd June. It is a 5-day fun festival Conducted at Ridge. Ridge is the best place for a summer soiree. It is a huge, open space exactly situated in the heart of the city. It is the accurate place to host the festival.
Travellers wander through the festival in their leisure time as Ridge is situated along the central shopping centre of the town.
The festival is free for everyone. The local's put up the Stalls for selling artisanal wares, food, clothes, and other Himachali handicrafts. This adds sprinkles of colour and liveliness to the ambience of the festival.
Why is it celebrated?
The festival is celebrated to enjoy the bounty of the harvest. The locals pray for the same harvest and prosperity next year. These 5 days extravaganza brings men and women together to enjoy music and dance.
What to do?
The festival is fun-filled with
local handicrafts exhibitions,
bizarre fashions show,
dog shows,
mouth-watering local cuisines stalls,
riots of musical and folk performances,
ice-skating events,
photography and poster-making competitions,
sports activities, and
many other activities.
