Everything Okay?

I look up at the heavens, as if silently asking for help.

Or glaring at the universe.

Whichever works.

I kick the punctured tire of my two wheeler, irritated beyond belief.

Why didn't I just book a cab.

To the supermarket.

I look around,feeling helpless.

I was beginning to get odd looks from passerbys every few minutes. There weren't many people at this time, but the ones passing by would make sure to just glance my way and continue their journey.

Thanks Universe, for letting me know no one actually helps when needed.

I drag my bike to a corner of the road, and do the only sane thing I could think of.

I book a cab, going to the nearest mechanic shop hoping to bring the guy along so he can repair my bike.

I count from one to ten when I see the shop closed, shutting my eyes.

It's just not my day.

What the heck man.

Should I just chuck it and go to my room?

Who would steal a punctured bike anyway?

I knew luck was shit when I couldn't book another cab.

I start to walk back towards,my bike, irritated.

After 3kms,I spot my bike, lying there miserably.

I mutter to myself, walking my bike.

As I carry the weight of both myself and my vehicle,my anger slowly turns to helplessness as frustrated tears surface my eyes.

I contemplate calling either Anshu or Avyukth, quickly dismissing the idea. They were on a date today.

Things have been...rocky between them lately. I don't want to disturb them.

Should I call... Nikhil?

I sigh, stretching my calves.

I'll probably die before I cover the next two something kilometers with my bike in hand.

I'm lost in my thoughts when a bike stops in front of me.

"S...Sandy?"

I sigh loudly,"Dhruv?"

He eyes my disheveled state and my bike, putting two and two together.

"Everything okay?",he asks.

I resist the urge to slap him,"Just dandy. I'm just checking how longs it's going to take if I walk with my bike."

Dhruv only stares at me,"Don't be a brat Sandy."

I wipe the sweat off my forehead, walking ahead, ignoring him.

"How does it feel? Being stuck in a situation."

I frown. What's with the double meaning?,"Excuse me?"

Dhruv shakes his head, sighing,"Do you want some help?"

"I can manage",I grit my teeth.

Dhruv laughs,"You won't become small if you take someone's help. It's better to take help than doing it alone and messing things up."

"Look, Dhruv. Tell me straight on my face if you have anything to say. Don't talk in circles",I snap.

"I'm just talking about your vehicle",he shrugs.

I push my bike forward, surprised when a pair of hands join mine.

"Leave me alone Dhruv."

"Wait for me",he mutters, leaving my bike after crossing the speed breaker.

I watch as he parks his bike, walking towards me.

"Why are you helping me?",I couldn't help ask.

He didn't hide his hatred for me the last few times we met.

I start to get frustrated when he doesn't reply,"I don't need your help. Go away",I mutter.

"Why? Is someone else coming to help you?"

"Shut up Dhruv."

He laughs humorlessly,"Someone is coming, then. Who? Your Romeo?"

"Nikhil?",my face twists.

Dhruv shrugs,"Unless you found someone else already?"

A tired sigh escapes my lips,"No Dhruv. I didn't find anyone else. And",I press my lips,"I'm not marrying Nikhil."

Dhruv stares at my face, his hold on the bike handle tightening,"I would have really fallen for that innocent face Sandy,if I didn't know any better."

Angry tears well my eyes,"You don't know jack about me."

"I beg to differ."

I take his hands off my bike, irritated.

"Look. I'm telling you this one last time. I did not cheat on you. Not with Nayan. Not anyone else. It's not my problem if he decides to sprout nonsense to you and you actually believed it. It's not under my control if someone like me."

"I'm not a fool",I snap,"A lot of people had confirmed whatever happened that day."

All colour drains from my face.

Hellooo my darlings.
I had no plans of updating,but here I am🤦🏽‍♀️
