IT WAS A WEEK after the fair and everyone in Avonlea gathered at the small church as they were awaiting the Sunday service.

Lacie who was sitting a row behind the Andrews was waiting patiently for the service to start. Her mother and father were reading the newspaper while her older sister who was accompanied with now her fiancé talking to him.

A few minutes later something knocked out of her thoughts as she heard a sniffle. Lacie turned around and saw Josie who face was red as a tomato as she had tears streaming down her face, Lacie turns to her parents as she wanted to see the newspaper

Peter handed his daughter the newspaper as she snatched it out of her hands skimming through it.

"Crap," said Lacie as she muttered to herself

"Lacie were in church watch your mouth," said rosella as she shushed her daughter, Lacie who was still shocked handed her mother the newspaper

As she did that she heard foot steps that sounded like running steps

"Josie!" Shouted Mrs Pye as she went after her daughter, mr Pye looked at Mr Andrews as he threw the newspaper on the ground

"This is not a bully pulpit!" Shouted Mr Andrews as he looked back at Miss Stacy and Gilbert

"A discussion will be held tomorrow," said Miss Stacy

"Oh my word I always knew that red headed girl was bad news," said rosella

"Can we please turn to today's required reading?" Asked the priest as he tried to bring everyone's attention back but failed
