IT HAS BEEN A FEW DAYS prior the incident with Lacie and River and billy hasn't left Lacie side as he was afraid that River would attempt to hurt Lacie again.
Lacie was with Jane at Miss Stacy's house as she had called all of the students as she had the list of students who would be attending queens in the fall.
"I'm so nervous Lacie what if I don't get in?" Asked Jane as she had the look worry written over her face
"Don't worry your going to make it besides if you don't there's other colleges around Canada," assured Lacie as she tried calming her best friend down
After Lacie said that Miss Stacy had the list in her hands
"In my hands I hold the list of names who will be attending queens in the fall..." said Miss Stacy as she laid the list down for the students to read
"Anne! Your in first! Along with Gilbert Blythe!" Said Tillie as she looked at Anne who looked at Gilbert who looked back at Anne Making Lacie confused but she ignored it
After that Jane walked over to Lacie with a look of glum on her face, Lacie immediately hugged the girl
"I'm so sorry that-"
"I'm going to queens!" Said Jane as she had a smile on her face Lacie hugged her best friend tighter as she smiled
"Congrats! We must tell everybody," said Lacie but as she said that she felt a pain in her stomach making her clutch onto it, Jane took notice
"Is everything alright?" Asked Jane as she looked at her best friend with concern
"Everything fine," said Lacie "I better go billy expects me to meet him," said Lacie "but congratulations," Said Lacie as she smiled at Jane
"Thanks Lacie," said Jane as she hugged Lacie one last time

After Lacie walked home she got stopped once again by River
"Thinking you could run huh?" Asked River, Lacie rolled her eyes
"River what do you want?" Asked Lacie as she kept walking River followed behind her
"Why won't you marry me?" Asked River Lacie stopped once again
