IT WAS THE NEXT day and Lacie was walking side by side with Jane, Lacie was talking about all the things that billy did the day before.
"Wait... so he walked you home?!" Asked Jane as he smiled "that's so exciting!! My brother and my best friend!!"
"Look we may have had a moment but I don't like him like that, we're just... friends," said Lacie as she sighed
"Oh yea then explain why billy was talking about you at dinner yesterday," said Jane
"He talked about me? Well that doesn't prove anything," said Lacie

Lacie and Jane has arrived at school , and when they got there they approached the girls but Anne wasn't no where to be found, this made Lacie confused
"Where Anne?" Asked lacie, Diana sighed
"Marilla told my mother that Anne wasn't attending school because of how awful school has treated Anne," said Diana as she looked down
"That terrible she was looking forward to school," said Lacie, Diana looked at Lacie and nodded
"Look on the bright side Diana we can sit together," said ruby as smiled, really is this what ruby is thinking about in a time like this
"I don't know I rather keep my seat open just in case anne comes back," said Diana as she looked at ruby "no offense,"
"It's fine I'll guess I'll be stuck with Josie," said ruby as she pointed at Josie Who looked at ruby
"I'm standing right here, and why are you so defensive of that orphan i thought your mother forbidden you to talk to her?"
