IT WAS A snowy day in Avonlea and school was just getting let out. All the kids were excited, all the girls and boys were gathered at the school house getting ready for the Christmas pageant.
Anne who was sitting with moody was cutting out paper that looked like little peoples, Lacie was sitting with the girls.
"My Uncle is a Banker and he said that the Cuthbert's are poor," said Josie, the girls looked at her confused
"Anne's poor?" Asked Diana as she had a confused look
"What do you mean poor?" Asked jane, Lacie nudged Jane
"Josie I don't think it's nice to spread rumors about people," said Lacie
"Well my uncle said that he saw Mr Cuthbert and apparently they can't afford To pay off green gables,"
After Josie said that Anne stomped over to the group of girls
"Josie Pye you take that back!" Said Anne as she tried to stand up for herself
"Well it's true.. your poor," said Josie as she had cockiness laced in her voice "what didn't they tell you? Are they even going to keep you?"
Lacie Gave Josie a mean stare who happily ignored it
"The older kids it's your turn to practice," said the lady that was conducting the whole thing. The girls including Lacie stood up, as the girls were farther away, Lacie slung her arm around Anne
"She's always like that don't listen to her,"
"Lacie I have to go to green gables to see if it's true," said Anne as she removed Lacies arm and ran out of the school house. Diana followed leaving Lacie with everyone else who joined the girls.
