Chapter 29

Kyra

"Go away" I mumbled tugging my blanket over my head

"Shortcake, your boyfriend is leaving in an hour, don't you want to say goodbye?" Aiden asked

"I can call him later in the day" I said

"No, you're coming with me"

"But - "

Aiden yanked my blankets

"Aiden!"

"Go get dressed"

Grumbling, I got out of bed and went to my bathroom to brush my teeth. I slipped into a giant grey hoodie that probably belonged to one of my brothers and a pair of black pants. I pulled on a vans then joined Aiden in the kitchen.

Aiden was saying something to Emilia when I got there and Fay was no where to be seen.

"Morning" I mumbled "I thought you came with Fay?"

"She's asleep in the car, I just hope she can keep her eyes peeled on your way back" Aiden said

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked walking around Emilia to get a granola bar and a KitKat "wait, you're going too?"

"Surprise"

"You're not even on the team"

"Reese called in sick"

"So? There are substitutes"

"Coach likes to be extra cautious" Aiden mumbled

"First Mason now you" I sighed "you could have at least told me earlier"

"Mason didn't tell you earlier"

I scowled at Aiden remembering when Mason had told me the night before that he was going for an away game.

"Bye Em" I mumbled kissing her cheek. I had apologized to Emilia the day following and she had forgiven me instantly.

Fay woke up during the ride to school

"When did you stop at Ky's?" Fay asked groggily as she sat up

Aiden didn't answer her

"I slept very well thanks for asking" she mumbled

"Did you know Aiden was also going away for three days?"

"That's what he said when he dragged me out of bed" Fay said "why didn't you tell us earlier?"

"Does Mona even know?"

"No she does not"

"And you're not going to tell her?" Fay asked

"I was hoping one of you could do it" he said itching his neck nervously

"Not me" Fay and I said together

"On come on you guys" Aiden begged

"This is the real reason you dragged us out of bed at such an ungodly hour isn't it?" I asked

Aiden smiled guiltily

"I got you food" Aiden said

Fay and I gasped "how dare you bribe us with food?" Fay asked

"There's mini pretzels, bagels, scones, muffins and I even got your favorite drinks. Just tell me you'll tell Mona and it's yours"

"I really do hate you Aiden" I said sourly

"Is that a yes?"

"Fuck you, Powers" Fay said

The school parking lot was scattered with all sorts of cars, most of them belonging to the guys on the soccer team. They were all putting their bags in the large white bus.
