32 NARRATIVE

CHAPTER 32

It's just Emilio and I at the
apartment today, we
haven't really spent much
time together these past
few months.

"I'm inviting Dar over." He
states coming back from
the kitchen with snacks.

"Bruh it's like you hate me
or something." I joke,
making a playful sad face.

"Invite Vinnie over." Emilio
suggests with a shrug
looking unfazed. Clearly
not wanting to have a
conversation with me right
now.

"I hangout with him way to
much, plus I think he is
hanging with Nai today." I
ramble as I grab some chips
out of the bag.

I bet Darianka doesn't like
him living with his girl best
friends so he has to
distance himself from us.

I head into my bedroom
before his silence annoyed
me. What am I going to do
when all my friends are
busy?

Wait, at the movies with
Vinnie that one time I saw
an ex. I should hit them up
so we could catch up.

I grab my phone and find
Kade's number to text and
see if he has plans today.

While waiting I look
through my Instagram and
tiktok. tiktokroom is about
to go crazy because Vinnie
and Nai are hanging out.

After I finally get a reply
from Kade I head over to
the address he sent me. I
decided to just dress
casually, it's not like I plan
on making a move.

I obviously have nothing
better to do so that's why
I'm coming here, I need to
get Vinnie and everyone
off my mind.

"It's been awhile J." Kade
says with a greeting
smile as I enter his tiny
home that he shares with
two friends.

"Yes it has, how have you
been?" I question trying
to make conversation.

"Pretty good. By the way,
my girl is coming over
because she doesn't trust
me." Kade jokes handing
me a Pepsi.

"The more the merrier,
you know?" I say with a
shrug not caring as I flop
down on his couch.

As we watch some show
we hear the sound of the
front door closing meaning
the girlfriend is here.

"Hey babe." She smirks to
Kade before walking over
to him and basically sitting
on his lap.

This shit makes me want
to throw up. Is she really
worried about me? I doubt
he mentioned that I'm his
ex.

"Jes this is my girlfriend
Abby." Kade introduces.

"Nice to meet you." I smile
politely, now feeling like a
middle aged woman.

"Yeah yeah, nice to meet
you too I guess." Abby
mumbles seeming
bothered by my existence.

Okay so she hates me,
this is uncomfortable and
awkward.

"Sorry about Abby she's
had a long day at work."
Kade apologizes passing
Abby a stern look.

Abby continues glaring at
me but I shrug it off.

"Girl I don't want your
boyfriend don't worry." I
chuckle shaking my head.

"And who hangs out with
their ex?" She questions
bitchily passing me a look.
