37 NARRATIVE

CHAPTER 37

I chill in my bed, still waking
up from like my 4 hours of
sleep. You know when you're
too excited to sleep, that's
kind of what happened.

One thing that got me
confused though is are we
going to become boyfriend
and girlfriend? Or do dates
like a normal beginning, even
though people go on dates to
get to know each other.

I decide to get up and start
my day earlier than normal.
Today is going to be an
actual chill day, I'll binge
watch the Penthouse and
take Instagram pics. The life
of an influencer.

My phone starts ringing
annoyingly from across the
room as I get dressed.

"Uh hey what's up?" I ask
answering the FaceTime
call from Vinnie.

"We didn't really finish our
talk last night so you should
come over." Vinnie says only
showing half of his eyes and
up.

"Maybe if you learned to
show your whole face then
maybe I'd come over." I joke
rolling my eyes.

"Just come over please." He
begs after fixing his camera
angle.

He looks cute even when he
is clearly barely awake.

"Fine, fine. Should I come
right now or later?" I ask
because I genuinely don't
know when I should go over.

"It really doesn't matter."
He shrugs which just annoys
me, I kind of hate when
people don't pick from the
options.

"Okay fine I'll leave in a few."
I state. Chuckling, "now let
me finish getting dressed I'm
literally still in pajama
bottoms."

"That means I should get
dressed too." He chuckles
back before saying goodbye
and hanging up.

I pull up in front of his place,
their driveway emptier than
normal. Maybe Vinnie invited
me because barely anyone
is home? I don't know.

I knock on the door waiting
maybe 15 seconds before
getting an answer. Kio
appears behind the door,
looking like he didn't expect
me to show up.

"I'm here to see Vinnie." I
state impatiently, waiting to
be let in, Kio just standing
there.

"Oh he is in the shower, just
wait down here." Kio says,
letting me through the door
and into their living room.

I sit on the couch quietly
waiting. He is probably going
to take like 30 minutes since
he is probably in there
making thirst traps.

"Damn he's taking his sweet
old time." Kio chuckles,
appearing out of nowhere.

"I don't really mind though." I
shrug, not in the mood for
small talk with Kio. At least
we are on better terms but
it's been like a month or two
since the whole kissing
drama.

"Why are you even here to
see him? Didn't you dislike
him?" Kio questions like it's
his business knowing.

"I came to hangout because
we are friends? I don't know
what's up with you." I answer
in a tone of attitude.

"Right, have fun I guess. By
the way I was talking to
Nailea the other day and she
says she likes Vinnie." Kio
states clearly trying to stir
things up.
