I was impatiently waiting for my mobile screen to light up, notifying me I had received a message.

Ten minutes ago I had called Cora, asking for her help. She immediately noticed something was wrong by how my voice sounded.

I explained her I needed to get out of the house because it was suffocating me.

Cora didn't ask questions and told me she was on her way to pick me up.

After what seems like an eternity I finally receive her message, I put on the first pair of shoes in sight and sneak out of the room.

There is no way I can face one of my brothers at the moment, let alone all of them.

I was hoping they were in their offices at the left wing, so I wouldn't have to sneak past them.

Chances of being caught are enormous. If I can get past my brothers, I still have to find a way out of the estate. There are always men who are guarding the front gate and the area around the house is full of cameras.

To my surprise I made it to the front door without bumping into anyone.

I decided to go to the back of the garden, there is a wall where I could climb over.

When I saw a branch of a tree slightly hanging over the wall, I thanked god even if I'm not religious, this was perfect.

In no time I was sitting on the edge of the wall, it went smoothly except for a few shallow cuts in my hands.

Without a second thought I jumped off the edge, it was about seven feet high.

A wave of pain shot through my body when my feet reached the ground. Not my smartest idea to jump of a wall with a deformed ankle, but I had no other choice.

I had texted Cora to park a block away, so no one would notice her.

Cora was waiting against her car, she had a concerned expression when she saw me.

I thanked her for coming and sat down in the passenger seat. The whole car ride was silent and after ten minutes we reached her house.

Cora's house was smaller than ours, but is still a mansion.

"Lets head to my room, so we can talk without anyone disturbing us," she suggested.

I placed myself on her queen-sized bed and she sat before me on a beige armchair.

"What happened?" she carefully asked.

The emotions I had suppressed came rushing back. I felt so many emotions at the moment that I didn't even know how I was feeling.

"I found out about their family business," my cracked voice said.

Her lips parted, but then closed again, as if she didn't know what to say. She stood up and sat next to me, her slender arms wrapped around me.

"I know it's allot to take in," she said.

To discover that my sweet and caring brothers were ruthless killers, people you hope to never meet, seems unreal.

Were they pretending to care about me, just so they could hurt me more in the end?

Before mom's death I would have never believed that Nick would hurt me, and see how that turned out.

No, my brothers can't be like him.

"I'm living with criminals," I blurted out.

How can I be so naive to think I would have a quiet normal life.
