Meredith POV
I dragged Derek into an on call room to explain what happened with Alex and to see what that umm disagreement was about.
He explained everything he told me how Alex just came up to him and punched him in the face and he just punched him back and it just went from there.
He said, "It seemed as if he knew about what happened between us... did you tell him?" Then I said "absolutely not, cause I knew that if he knew that he would take his anger out on you."
Derek looked confused, "Well if you didn't tell anyone, then how did Alex find out?" Derek kept thinking then finally it came to him. "I told April but she already knew, right?"
I was pissed that he told April, "Are you stupid? April was the woman Alex cheated on me with, she used to be my best friend and well that happened and well long story short she isn't my friend at all."
Narrator's POV
Derek looked disappointed in himself, all of Alex's rage was his doing and all he wanted to do was ask out Meredith. He didn't know of right now was the right time to do that, but he didn't care he just needed to get it out of his system.
Derek's POV
I just wanted to tell her how I feel and for her to tell me that she wants to get to know me too. So I build up every ounce of courage that I could in that moment and said "Well now that we've gotten that out of the way I need to ask you a question."
She looks at me a little concerned and says "shoot." Then I ask with the least amount of uncertainty that I could and said "Will go out with me to go grab a cup of coffee, or breakfast, or dinner, anything you want." I was beginning to ramble.
Her face of fear began to change into a smile and say "I'm very flattered that you asked, but I don't know if this is a good idea." I was starting to lose hope and said "Come on, every time I pass you I get butterflies and every time I'm thinking a random thought it's what will make you laugh so I can just see that smile of yours."
"So please I know that this is a good idea cause if it weren't I wouldn't feel this way. So please just a date and if you still feel that way then I guess I can't convince you. " I said with my 'McDreary smirk' that I was told was becoming a thing.
She said "Fine, we can have breakfast one morning let me know when and where so I can meet you there, okay?" Now smiling ear to ear I say "Perfect!"
