"i promise i'm not," swore elliott as he walked beside seungmin to where two separate vehicles, one a normal car and the other a black van, were parked. they were going as slow as possible, to spend their last moments at the mansion with each other.
"okay," laughed seungmin, "how did you say it, again?"
"qu'est-ce que c'est," repeated elliott, "it's basically asking, 'what is this' but the literal translation is, 'what is this that this is' and i swear to god i'm not messing with you."
"you're not religious," he pointed out, "you swearing to god means nothing."
"fine, then, i swear on my, um, my undying love for -" seungmin's eyes widened just the tiniest bit in hope and he held his breath.
"- zendaya," finished elliott and the other boy deflated like a balloon. "i swear on my love for her, okay? and zendaya's been my celeb crush since i was ten, so you know i'm being serious."
from afar, zane slapped his palm to his forehead. he was walking with jae, and the two had decided to eavesdrop on their hopelessly oblovious maknae from a distance.
"eli, you idiot," groaned jae as watched seungmin close up again. both him and zane almost physically couldn't look on when elliott didn't even understand what he had just done, and let out a sigh of relief when akira walked by and elliott bid seungmin goodbye before following his best friend.
they were all pretty chill about leaving; actually, most were happy to finally be rid of jeong and sungho's bullshit. the twelve had exchanged their social media accounts and knew they'd meet again at award shows and whatnot, anyways.
it still sucked to say bye, but they had to remain optimistic.
almost from the very second deck's car had pulled out of the driveway, elliott was snapping felix. the two had bonded over memes the same way elliott and minho had over cats.
