Oceans and Streams

If you can't understand my silence,
What makes you think you can understand my words?

They are both equally important,
And you would know if you bothered to truly listen.

Silences can speak volumes more that words,
But somehow, it is never heard.

You run your mouth like a never ending stream,
But never pay attention my lack of water.

It may not be flowing, but that doesn't mean I don't have oceans building up inside of me.

And if you're quiet enough, for just a moment,
You can hear the sound of the waves crashing against the barrier.

Begging to be said.
