“I wonder if this is how Alice felt when she was falling down the-DAMN YOU ADHD!” Percy thought as they were falling. His mental clock was really messed up, but he thought they had been falling for 3 days at least.
“Percy?” Annabeth said looking up at him.
“Yeah?”
“I think we’re about to land.”
“Hopefully we won’t break our necks.”
“No, Percy, we have to let go. There’s a sharp rock in between us.”
“Annabeth, I won’t let go! We have to stick together!”
Annabeth sighed. “See you at the bottom, seaweed brain.”
And she let go.
Then, Percy landed.
He could tell he was sinking the second he touched the pit of quicksand.
