After everything that happened yesterday with my video, I needed some time to clear my head. I just decided to walk the dogs for a while, Colby was in his room so I made sure to tell him I was leaving, "Colby?" I knocked on his door lightly, he was still in his bed watching his computer, "Hey baby, you alright?" He got up as I opened his door even more,
"Yeah I'm just gonna bring Circa and Auggie out a little bit, to clear my head and that, I just wanted to let you know" I replied sinking into the hug he had wrapped me in, he pulled away and looked down at me, "Want me to come with?" I shook my head and told him I would be fine.
I grabbed the two leads from the drawer and called the dogs, letting Elton know I was taking them out, Circa was still pretty pink so he didn't argue with me.
It was pretty windy out so not many people were walking but I did see a couple of people around the dog park, they seemed to be drunk so I stayed out of their way, I was a little confused on why they were drunk at 11 am but it's their life.
I sat down on the grass to give the dogs a chance to run off the lead when something or someone grabbed my arm, I shot around meeting one of the guys from earlier, I tried to pry my arm from his but he was surprisingly strong, Circa and Auggie were by the trees so they didn't know what was going on, I didn't want them coming near in case they were kicked or worse.
"Excuse me, let go?!" He smiled in return, "Not so fast pretty lady, I'm just having some fun" his breath reeked of alcohol, I stepped back only to have him pull me slightly back towards him, his smile made me uneasy and I started to panic, I tried to make my voice loudly trying to get the attention of the dogs, who had found a new interest in a stick on the floor.
"Get the fuck of me!" I pulled my arm from his and stumbled backwards, I turned to see the dogs turn their heads in my direction, I felt relieved as they started running over, I looked down to my wrist to see the handprints around my wrist. He coughed behind me stepping closer to me.
"Not so fast, now we wouldn't want anyone to get hurt now would we?" He smirked down at me, I stepped back rolling my foot over a rock below me, my back collided with the grass as he stepped over me, his face slowly reaching mine, my breathing stopped as I closed my eyes, silently panicking about the situation, I waited for impact but it never came.
I opened my eyes to see Circa and Auggie dragging the man across the floor, growling and snarling at him, he stayed down clutching his arm in pain, I let out a breath of relief I didn't know I was holding as the dogs whined and walked over to me, licking my wrist as if to clear the bruise.
"You did so good guys, thank you" I whispered into their fur, "Come on let's get you home" I stood up reattaching their leads and started walking, he stood up and stumbled towards me again, when will this man learn.
I turned around and swung my fist, colliding straight with his nose. I smirked as he fell down again, "You bitch, you broke my nose!" I rolled my eyes and walked away, not before shouting back to him, "I'm sorry, well not really"
I walked home quite quickly before someone else could stop me, my knuckles were bruised and my wrist was still black. The door was already unlocked so I just walked in seeing the boys on the couch and Kat and Devyn in the kitchen.
"Hey baby, how was the walk?" Devyn asked bending down to pet Auggie. Kat noticed my knuckles and my wrist, "Chloe what the fuck happened?!" Her voice was louder than I think she meant to since the boys all jumped up and ran into the kitchen, Colby looked concerned wearing the same expression as the boys, I hid my hand behind my back so they couldn't see, not wanting to make a big deal out of it.
"Well?" Kat asked giving me a comforting look, Auggie was at my legs sensing that I was uncomfortable, "I just had a run in with this creep, it's fine, Auggie and Circa jumped him and I punched him. It's fine ok?" Colby looked furious as did the other boys, Devyn stepped forward, "Show me your wrist" she put her hand on my shoulder, I brought my hand from my back and her eyes widened as she saw the hand imprint on my wrist.
"Who did this to you?" This was the first time Colby had spoken and he didn't have his usual soft tone, he seemed angry, "Just a random creep but I promise I'm fine" Sam shook his head at my response, "Chloe, you're not fine you're wrist is black and blue"
Everyone left me and Colby alone in the kitchen, I sat with an ice pack on my wrist and Colby wrapping my knuckles in bandages, he looked distressed about something, "Colby what's wrong" I sighed turning towards him, he put his head in his hands, "I am supposed to protect you" I almost couldn't hear him as he spoke in a whisper but hearing that broke my heart, "Colby look at me" I put my hand under his chin to make him look at me, "Colby, it's not your fault, and we all know that I'm not some weak girl who can't take care of herself" I laughed adding some light to the conversation, "I know it's just I love you so much and I can't lose you and-" he stopped suddenly as he realised what he said, my breath caught in my chest.
"I. Uh. I mean" I placed my hand on his cheek to stop his rambling, "Colby calm down, I love you too" I smiled as his face lit up, pulling my towards him, catching me in a soft kiss. We pulled away as we heard noises from the hallway, "Ewwww cooties!" Corey and Elton laughed as they looked towards us, Devyn hitting both of them in the chest, I sighed leaning into Colby's chest, his body slightly shaking from laughing. I loved Colby and Colby loved me.
