Pietro runs into the kitchen and stops when he sees Wanda standing in front of us with her hands on her hips.

"Pietro-" she starts.

"Can you save it for later and cover for us?" he asks.

"Fine," Wanda sighs.

I get off of Pietro's back and we hide behind the couch just as Sam comes into the room. I quickly use my powers to lift us to the ceiling above Sam so he doesn't see us.

"What the-" Pietro starts but I cover his mouth with my hand.

"Hey, Sam." Wanda casually pours her coffee.

"Have you seen Gracee?" Sam asks sternly.

"No, actually I haven't," Wanda answers as Vision walks back in.

"Hello, Young Stark." He glances up at me and
then looks back in surprise. "Gracee! You're on the ceiling!"

"Great observation, Vis." I lower Pietro and myself back down to the ground.

"I had no idea your powers had developed so much!" he says in amazement.

"Yeah... neither did I."

"That was awesome!" exclaims Pietro.

"Great job, Gracee." Wanda smiles.

"Thanks." I stare at the wisps of black moving around my hands in confusion.

"I'll admit," says Sam, who I forgot was there. "That was pretty cool."

Bucky then walks in and when he sees Sam he tries to sneak back out inconspicuously.

"Wait, Buck, come here!" I yell.

"Yeah, Buck," Sam mocks. "Come on back in."

Bucky walks back in and glares at Sam.

"Gracee just-" Pietro starts.

"Gracee just what?" Tony interrupts him when he enters the room.

Everyone goes silent.

"Gracee just what?" he asks again, looking around the room at each of us.

Vision sighs and looks at the ground, knowing he can't lie to him. "Gracee just levitated herself and Pietro to the ceiling."

He looks to me apologetically and I give him a small smile, showing him that it's okay.

"Did you not take your medication this morning?" Asks Bruce, who joins my dad in the doorway.

"No I... I forgot," I admit.

"I'm proud of you, kiddo." Tony smiles. "But you know the drill."

"I'll take it now," I mumble, walking out of the room.

"No," says Bruce. "It will be too long to before it starts taking effect."

Tony looks down to the ground in realization. "Take her to the lab."

I look around at everyone in confusion and they all look around at each other uncomfortably.

"I'll be in the workshop if you need me." He kisses the top of my head and then leaves the room.

I follow Bruce out of the room nervously. I don't know why I am going to the lab but I don't have a good feeling about it. Everyone watches me apologetically, like they know why. We walk down the hallways silently and by the time we get to the lab I feel sick to my stomach.

"You can just sit there." Bruce points to the lab table.

I sit down and watch him fill a syringe with a white liquid. "What are you doing?"

"Your dark magic could overpower you. Like the medication, this serum will control that. I've been working on it for a while now and have made it just strong enough to take affect but not enough to hurt you."

"What does it do?"

"Essentially, it will purify you."

I stare at the long needle and my throat goes dry. Memories of Hydra come back to me. The long nights in the cell, the electric shocks, the needles. Bruce walks to me and gently presses my shoulder down. I am confused as to why would I need to lay down if I was just getting a shot in my arm, but it all makes sense when he wipes the side of my neck with a sanitizing wipe.

"You're injecting it into my neck?"

"Yes, it will take effect quicker because that is where the serum that gave you your powers was injected."

I squeeze my eyes shut as I have flashbacks of Hydra injecting me into my neck with the black serum that burned as it coursed through my veins. I open my eyes again and see the long needle getting closer. The flashbacks won't leave my mind. My breathing becomes heavy and tremors go down my body. My are shaking even though they are closed into fist.

I try to calm down by controlling my breathing the way I do every time I have flashbacks.

In four, hold seven, out eight.

Just before the needle enters my skin, I blast it away. I didn't mean to, it just happened before I even knew what I was doing. Bruce looks at me in concern but before he can say anything I press my hand to his head, with the intention of making his mind sleep. His eyes close and he falls to the ground, unconscious.

I stare at him in fear of myself and stand up off of the table. The room is spinning and the memories won't leave my mind. They come in flashes and even with my eyes squeezed tightly shut I still see them, still hear my screams echo through the base, still feel the dark liquid circulating through my blood stream, burning like fire in my veins.

I sink to my knees, clutching my head and holding my ears while squeezing my eyes shut. I scream and a wave of energy goes around me. The glass tubes and bottles full of different colored liquids, some bubbling while others are steaming, burst.

Glass shards cover the floor and the liquids splatter across the walls. Some drip to the floor and others burn holes in the walls. My breathing falters as I look around the room and to Bruce, looking at the damage I have caused.

I stand up and open the door. After looking both ways, I run down the hall, headed for the door leading outside. When I get to it I turn back to make sure no one is coming while opening the door at the same time.

When I whirl back around, I slam into someone. We hit so hard that they stumble backwards. My impact causes them to fall to the ground, with me on top of them. When I look at the face of the person I just collided with, I realize that I am face to face with a stranger. Our faces are so close that I can feel his breath on me.

The stranger is a boy that looks to be about my age. He's cute, and that observation instantly makes me blush from more than just embarrassment.
