ACT FIVE, love
CHAPTER FOUR, eight potters

Iris passed by a Muggle shop where a crowd of Muggles were gathered around a newspaper stand. Veles had transformed into a big, black dog that reminded Iris of her father and she was holding him on a leash (something he wasn't too happy about) as they walked through the street. She could tell she looked rough (to say the absolute least) by the stares she was getting from passersby when they took in the many cuts on her face, the bruises on her neck, and the bandage that was wrapped around her hand. Iris could only imagine what everyone was going to say when they caught sight of her since no one knew where she had gone or what she had gone to do.

The headline on the newspaper was what caught her eye and caused her to stop walking down the street. She stepped forward, pushing through the crowd as she picked up a copy of the Muggle newspaper. Her knees wobbled.

BRUTAL MURDER IN QUIET ENGLAND TOWN: Couple found dead in their home

Iris's hands shook as she looked at the faces of the couple. It was Alex and Rania. Iris crumpled up the newspaper and set it back on the stand before she practically dragged Veles alongside her. It was Rhea, she knew it immediately. She had killed Iris's grandparents.

Iris had never spent much time with Alex or Rania since they had retreated into hiding and Iris steered clear of her grandmother at Calypso's funeral, but her mum had told her about how Alex was like another father to her. He was innocent to all of this and they certainly hadn't deserved to die. Iris thought about her aunt Maverick and wondered if she was alive. The headlines hadn't said anything about a daughter being found.

She walked into an alleyway and stood there, letting Veles's leash hang limply in the air as she rubbed her hands over her face. She was hit with another wave of feeling as though she had failed her parents in protecting the people they cared about. Rhea had succeeded once more and Iris, and possibly Maverick, were the last of the Krane bloodline.

"Iris?" Veles asked cautiously. She held up a hand and moved behind a dumpster, feeling sick and she emptied out the contents of her stomach.

"Gross." She whispered before popping a piece of gum into her mouth. "We have to go to Harry soon. We need to go back to the hotel and get our — well, my — things."

She said nothing about what happened to Veles and she walked him back to the hotel they were staying at. She had more money than she knew what to do with and finding a hotel run by witches in London hadn't been too difficult. She had been trapped inside Hel House for a week and only had a few days left before she had to meet the others, so she used the time to do a little sight-seeing and to try and figure out how she was going to find the rest of Rhea's Horcruxes. She knew one of them was most likely inside Rhea herself, but the others had to be somewhere.

She searched high and low for any information on Caliope Hel that she could find, and she managed to take the photo albums that had been left inside Hel House to see what items were of value to Caliope. The only common denominator was the sapphire necklace so she didn't have much luck in finding anything else.

While Iris brushed her teeth, Veles changed into his cat form and pawed through The Black Book. Iris had, also, been searching for the perfect spell that she could use to defeat Rhea, Cordelia, and Bellatrix. She needed something dark and powerful that would hurt them.

"Ready?" asked Iris when she gathered all of her things.

"Ready." said Veles. Iris lifted him off of the bed and took a deep breath.
