CHAPTER ONE, blast to the past

Iris spun the time-turner and stood in Krane Manor in the year 1976. Minnie was no longer around and it was all relatively quiet. Iris frowned because she had absolutely no idea where to find Calypso.

The door opened and revealed a blonde man with a blonde girl entering the manor. He had groceries in his hands but dropped them once he saw Iris standing in the middle of their living room.

''W-who are you? What are you doing here?'' He asked. Iris could tell that he was afraid, but he was moreso confused on why the girl before him looked so much like his stepdaughter.

''My name is Iris and I need to find Calypso Black. It is a matter of emergency and great importance.'' Iris said. She liked how professional and ominous she sounded. The man frowned, did a once-over of Iris, and nodded slowly.

''There's a cafe in London. The Saltwater and she's supposed to be there with her friends.'' He said. Iris nodded before running out into the streets of England, in desperate need to find the girl that she suspected was her mother.

Iris stood outside of the cafe and looked in on Calypso Krane. Her black hair hung from her face as she studied the menu and she rapidly tried to pull it behind her ears before it really became a bother to her. Calypso had a small smile on her face and her eyes lit up as she did so. Iris couldn't help but think that she was absolutely gorgeous and she could see some of the resemblance between her and Calypso. Calypso looked out the window and made eye contact with Iris. Iris' heart stopped as a look of recognition formed on Calypso's face.

Calypso stood up from her seat and met Iris halfway.

Iris delivered the message, but the entire time she was focusing on Calypso Krane trying desperately to memorize every single detail about her. Her hair was long and black, her eyes were as blue as Iris', and she had a warm feeling that channeled onto Iris. Iris felt like she was home as she even stood beside Calypso.

Calypso had listened to everything Iris said with great interest as she, too, found herself analyzing the young girl.

''See me?'' Calypso had asked. Her eyes turned towards the time turner around Iris' neck. ''You're from the future... so, it's true. You really are my daughter.''

Iris resisted the urge to deny that fact out of natural instinct, because if she was the missing daughter of Calypso Krane (which she highly doubted), it will have meant that Cordelia had lied to her. It would have meant that her entire life would have been a lie and nothing more. She would have lost herself when it took so long to figure out who she was.
