ACT FIVE, love
CHAPTER SEVEN, the wedding

Three o'clock the following afternoon found Iris adjusting the dress that Fleur had forced her to put on ("No black!" she had shouted at Iris even though Iris wasn't planning to wear a black dress to a wedding) as she, Tracey, and Sabina walked downstairs, her arm wrapped around Veles who was now a cat wearing a tiny cat tuxedo that made everyone coo over him but he loved the attention. Iris was wearing a sleeveless, flowy, yellow dress with tiny pink roses on it. Tracey had taken the time to twist her hair up into a bun but left two curled strands hanging in the front and had let her borrow heels to match her dress. Oliver was outside the great marquee orchard with Harry, Ron, Fred, and George, awaiting the wedding guests. Except, Harry wasn't really Harry. He was a redhead Muggle boy from the local village, Ottery St. Catchpole, but was going by "Cousin Barny".

"How do I look?" Sabina asked, turning to her friends, adjusting her blue dress. She fiddled nervously with her eyepatch and brushed her hand over the scars on her face. "Fred asked me to go with him."

"Are you two . . .?" asked Iris.

"What? No!" Sabina said. Her face turned red and Tracey and Iris looked at her suspiciously. "We're not  — nevermind that! Are you going to give us the false memories now?"

"Right." said Iris. She took a deep breath and set Veles down on the ground. She hadn't exactly ever created false memories for someone else before but her skill with Occlumency and Legilimency were great enough that she thought she could do. She had practiced creating them on herself and they were realistic enough to Veles when he looked inside her mind that she was confident she could do it to Sabina, Tracey, and Oliver.

Iris closed her eyes and pressed her hand to Sabina's temple. She had to imagine the entire scenario and leave no detail unfinished. She imagined that she and Sabina were sitting inside the room they shared in the Burrow and she imagined that she was telling Sabina that she was no longer returning to Hogwarts because she had to go into hiding. They stood like that for a while as Iris carefully crafted the story and placed it in Sabina's mind. Sabina opened her eyes and blinked repeatedly.

"Whoa . . . it's like I can remember that conversation happening but I know it didn't!" Sabina said, surprised by Iris's power.

"Good because, now, I'm going to have to take away any memories of us talking about doing this and I'm going to have to alter this one so you don't remember me doing this. Same with you, Tracey."

The two girls nodded and Iris went back to work. She was surprised by how easy the whole thing came to her. She knew she was a natural Occlumen and Legilimen thanks to her ancestry, but she had forgotten how naturally it came to her. She altered all of Sabina's memories so seamlessly that when she was done, Sabina had no idea what they were doing and wandered off.

She did the same to Tracey and they went outside to speak to the boys.

"There's my dancing partner!" exclaimed Fred happily. Sabina was a few steps ahead of them and she was walking up to Fred. His eyes looked her up and down and he tugged at the collar of his dress robes.

"Well? How do I look?" Sabina asked. "I thought the dress was a little much but Fleur insisted . . ."

Fred lifted his hand up and pulled Sabina's eyepatch off. She immediately brought her hand up to cover her empty eye socket, her face turning a deep shade of red out of embarrassment, but Fred pulled her hand down and held it in his own.

"You look perfect." He said. "Would I lie to you?"

"Yes." Sabina said before a sweet smile formed on her face. "But, thanks."
