Y/N sat up and let out a deep sigh.
Their eyes ached while their head felt like it would implode any minute now.
They had been working at their desk, going over the week's numbers for Freddy's.
It had been a fairly busy week, especially since most of the kids in the area were on spring break and the place being somewhat shortstaffed with some of it's employees deciding to enjoy spring break as well.

Y/N stretched their arms upward, hoping to feel the satisfaction of a bone popping or their muscles relaxing but they just felt stiff and sore from a day of running around trying to help with what they could.
They looked over at the clock on the cluttered desk.
11: 45 PM it read.
So much for getting home somewhat early and having some good food.
Y/N huffed and decided to take a short walk.
They were about to finish their work anyways but if they stayed in that musky little office any longer, they probably would have passed out from exhaustion or just cried.

So there you were strolling the halls of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria.
You were somewhat hungry so you decided to head to the kitchen.
Surely there would be some sort of snacks there and Gus the cook hopefully wouldn't mind if a few were missing.
Thankfully you were right.
You grabbed some cookies and soda, thinking about where you would go next.
It would be a lie to say that Freddy's wasn't scary at night.
Especially with all the lights off and the animatronic's just starting at you eerily everytime you walked by them.

You were going to go to the front desk but you remembered that Freddy's had an arcade.
You almost dropped your cookies with how fast you were running.
And man was it exhilarating to run around like that.
Just having the place all to yourself was exciting and relaxing.
No kids crying and no coworkers trying to get you to clean up vomit.

So there you were in the arcade trying to play some games.
But Scott being the cheap fuck he was, shut the games down.
What now?
You walked back to the lobby and sat in the chair that was at the front desk.
It was now midnight and you hadn't finished your work.
It's too soon to go back.
In another attempt to procrastinate in the name of self care, you looked around the desk.
And there it was.
The answer to your prayers!
It came in the form of a blueprint of the joint.
You got up and started to look around the place, cross matching with the map.
At this point you had nothing better to do so this was the move.

You had already marked off most of the map but according to the map there was a door right in front of you.
That's odd?
When you turned back, you heard something open.
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
You whipped around.
A man's head was sticking out of the wall or doorway.
"I.. I um, I work here."
He started at you and told you to come over.
At a nearer distance, you realized that he also worked here.
He was tall, pale and had eyes that were complimented by dark circles.
Dave read his name tag.
"Well, don't just stand there. Come in."
"Oh! Sorry."
You stepped into the secret room.
Dave sat down on a chair, crossing his arms.
His eyes scanned over you.
You felt yourself grow hot.
"Uh, what are you doing?"
"So, you do work here."
"Um, yeah?"
You pulled out your name tag and showed him.
"Y/N."
"That's me."
You chuckled awkwardly, sitting on the chair next to him.
"What are you doing here though? It's pretty late."
He eyed you again, his brow furrowing a bit.
"Had to stay late. Paperwork, y'know?"
"Ah, I see."
You hummed in response.
"I could ask you the same thing. I didn't even know this place existed."
You gestured at the office you were in.
"Well, I'm the night guard and this is my office, if that answers your question."
"Why's it unmarked though?"
You turned to face him.
Something in his eyes changed then.
He smirked.
"You're awfully curious."
You blushed.
"I- I'm sorry if I'm annoying you."
He chuckled.
"You're adorable Y/N. And it's okay.
Most people don't know this place is here, only Scott and the other guards."
"Oh. So it's like a safe room?
Wait, that sounded so stupid. This is nothing like a safe room. Probably just the doors make it safe. Goddamn it Y/N.
"You're actually right.
It is sort of like a safe room. But mostly a security office."
You internally let out a breath.
Or so you thought.
"Hey you doing okay?"
"Uh yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit tired."
"How long did you say you were here?"
"Since nine in the morning."
"Jesus fucking christ Y/N.
No wonder you're tired."
"I'm fine though, don't worry."
You gave him a reassuring smile.
He just looked at you, no emotion until after a few seconds.
"Wait, when are you going to leave?"
"Until I finish some stuff."
He frowned.
You turned to look at the clock, it was now almost two.
Shit. I have to be at my mom's house at seven.
Dave seemed to notice the worry on your face.
"Is it a lot?"
Confusion spread across your face.
"Your work."
"Oh! Um, not that much. I don't think?"
"Come on then."
"What? My office?"
He nodded, opening one of the doors.

The two of you walked towards your office, chatting idly about each other and your jobs.
In the short walk you had learned that Dave had actually worked at the original Freddy's location where all the murders happened. You two had also talked about ghosts and things of the sort.
Overall, Dave seemed like a chill guy.
He was eloquent and the way that fragments of an accent framed his words made your heart flutter a bit more.

You sat on your chair and got straight to sorting out the mess of papers on your desk.
Dave looked around the office.
You noticed that he locked the door.
"Alright. I'm sorry about that."
"It's fine."
He leaned against your desk.
"So what do you need help with?"
"It's actually just two forms I need to fill out."
You sighed and smiled lazily.
"That's it?"
"Mhmm."
You started to work on the first one, when you realized that Dave was watching you.
"What?"
"I could do the second one."
"Oh, um are you sure?"
He nodded.
"I've done this before you know.
Plus it's not like you need special skill to do so.
No offense dear."
He smirked at you.
The butterflies fluttered around more.
"Fine. Here."
You handed the sheet to him.
The two of you worked in silence, save for his occasional humming or your pencil tapping.

One thing was certain, you finished quicker with help.
Plus it felt nice to have company.
"I guess I have to go now."
You started to gather your things.
"Thank you Dave."
You smiled at him.
"My pleasure Y/N.
Are you sure you'll be able to get home fine?"
You nodded, a yawn escaping your mouth.
"I have to be somewhere at seven, so I need to sleep."
"Uh, Y/N I get off at six but nothing really happens here. Can I drive you home?"
"Oh, you don't have to."
"It's fine."
After about thinking for a moment you finally caved.

Dave locked the place up and you gave him your keys.
He would come get his car later.
The last thing you remember before drifting off was him putting his jacket on you.
After that, you didn't remember much either.
Just him carrying you and tucking you in stuck in your head.

Later, at about eleven you got a text asking if you slept well.

1336 words.

So sorry for this short chapter, I'm trying to work on my other books.
Hope you all are staying safe and are doing well. Also off topic, but I love Derek Chauvin's lawyer lmao.
