Choosing you was a mistake, the worst one I'd ever made,
I thought you could change, but I guess I was too late,
Cause I cracked too fast and gave in way too fast,
We were on a rollercoaster that was gonna crash, no wonder we didn't last.
You never said it back, when I texted you at midnight,
You never said it back, when we were standing side by side,
You never said it back to me, all the times I said so naturally,
Guess you wete too busy, saying it so someone that wasn’t me.
Maybe I'm just too shallow, too vain, too hollow,
So I never realised that I was wrong,
I was into classics, you were a pop song,
I mean oppsites attract, don't they, but they can break apart.
You were a summer evening when the sun is still in the sky,
I was a winter morning, when the sun hasn’t yet risen, the leaves go dry,
You weren’t into commitment, but that's alright,
Because I was into people who always cast me aside.
Yes, choosing you was a mistake, one of the worst ones I've ever made,
Staying was a bad decision, one I soon grew to regret,
Not leaving was a choice, not the best one I've ever made,
What takes the cherry on the top is, replying to your first text.
