Sixteen, wanted to be prom queen,

After a few years, living on the streets,

Working two jobs, feeling unclean,

Struggling to make both ends meet.

She's high on the feeling,

She's low on them happy hormones,

The guys think she's pretty,

Barely got any meat on her bones.

Parents fighting in the house,

Unknown hands creeping inside her blouse.

Assignments marked with red ink,

Dreaming of the future, a ship that's bound to sink.

But she ain't got time to think,

She feels alive when she's in the ring.

Wished she was in the stating rink instead,

But she did have the money, didn't have the will.

Didn't have the figure, but had looks that could kill,

So she trained, and she trained, till she thought she wasn’t tainted,

And his touch, his hands on her skin that had been painted,

On her body, had been painted over,

And nowdays she's mostly sober.

And when she's not, she inside her head,

Her head is in the clouds,

They doctors are screaming, but she can't hear no sound.

She can hear no sound.
