Playing Catch

I ran around in circles
Barefooted like them all
Playing as though
There was no end
With our shrieks echoing
Across the grounds

It made my mother sigh
But I could not care less
For her warnings only fell on
Some half-deaf ears of mine

And as the rain poured down upon us
Our clothes soaking wet
We laughed and we continued
To play our little
Game of catch
