To laugh and to run
Through the long and endless blades of grass
Under the warmth of the shining sun
Splashing through the puddles
And trudging through the mud
Screaming and shouting with laughter
All bright smiles on our faces
Sadness being of none
Wind blowing through our hair
Hearts racing and us panting
From climbing up the hills where there was fun
Flying the wau bulan which dad had bought
From that friendly old uncle
Just by the side of the road,
He would always give us a kind smile
And a nodOh,
We would always watch
The wau bulan's wings flutter and soar
Flying high through the sky with such pride
Their colours dancing
And swirling
And greeting the clouds
With me wishing that I too
Could be whisked away from the ground
Whining about it to those around,
And so,
To grant my wish,
Dad would lift me up
And start swinging me around
While I stretched out my arms
Pretending I was superman
Invincible to the world around
