There have been times
Where I wonder
If I'm doing the right thing
By chopping off
Some strings
But then I realise
How you have affected me so
Much to the point where
I overthink everything my heart
Tells me to follow
And so this is where
I will put my foot down,
Draw the line,
And say my goodbye,
Because I will not settle for
Anyone who tries
To hold me back from my truest self
For I've done that once before
Back in the distant past
And Hell,
I will not
Repeat that same mistake
Ever again
Especially since
I've already come so far
From crawling out from my depths of despair
No,
I will not turn back
Because I know all too well
That this sacred heart and soul and life of mine
Is one to always cherish
And protect
