You Were A Sheep Too

Deep down I knew
This little happiness of mine
Was not meant to last.
For you too
Had to be a sheep
In order to be accepted
By the crowd
So that you
Could be seen.

And so,
After many months
Of our lovely days,
We slowly grew distant
With you not even
Saying a "hello"
As we walked on by
Opposite directions
Heads often bent down low
With a voice in my head often whispering
A silent goodbye
To the boy I once knew
