Before Madison could even open the guestroom door, she panicked and ran back to her room with her metaphorical tail between her legs. She didn't have the courage to tell him to his face. She figured it would be easier for her to tell him through text even though that was completely horrible.

She fell back onto her bed and grabbed her phone, unplugging it from the charger before typing out a quick text to him to make sure he was still awake.

Madison: hey, are you sleeping?

GrungeBob: not yet, why?

Madison: i have something i need to say to you but i can't say it in person.

GrungeBob: okay, what's up, love?

Madison: so, um. i have been thinking a lot lately and i came to the conclusion that i might, maybe, have a thing for you???

GrungeBob: might, maybe? lol

Madison: okay, fine. i do. >:(
read 3:47 a.m.

Madison: excuse me, sir. i don't know what leaving me on read means in your home country but here in America that is considered hateful >:(

She plugged her phone back in and wiggled under the covers before she reached over and turned off the lamp next to her bed. She automatically assumed the worst. Maybe he didn't like her like she had thought. Maybe she was just imagining things. She placed her eye mask over her eyes to block out any light before resting her head against her pillows.

Before she had the chance to fall asleep, her bedroom door opened and she felt a presence coming toward her. "If you're here to rob me, take what you want. Just don't wake me up." She breathed out, focusing on trying to go to sleep.

"I know you're not about to go to sleep and pretend like you didn't just text me and tell me you have a thing for me." Madison immediately shot out of bed and ripped her eye mask off, her eyes landing on his figure in the doorway. She reached over and turned on her lamp.

"Let's not pretend that you didn't leave me on read." She watched him rip the blanket off her body before his arms wrapped around her waist and she was lifted into his arms. She stared at his lips for a moment, watching them curve into a small smirk. She was confused to say the least. He was hard to read and even harder to understand.

"I left you on read to come in here and get you to actually tell me to my face. I want to hear you say it, Maddie." Oh god. She felt sick again. She hoped she could control it before she threw up all over him. That would kill the mood for sure. She let out a small sigh and tore her eyes away from his lips to look up into his bright green eyes.

"You can't just take my word for it?" She pleaded, nervous about actually verbally telling him. She didn't want to look like an idiot if he didn't feel the same way as she did. She watched him shake his head before she poked her lower lip out into a small pout. She knew there was no way she was getting out of this one, he was too determined to get her to say it.

"Okay, fine. I like you, okay? A lot, actually. You make me really happy. Happy in a way that nobody else does. You make me laugh and forget about the negative thoughts in my head. You bring me peace." She confessed, her teeth grasping her bottom lip as she prepared to hear him laugh at her like it was all a joke when it was far from it.

"I'm not exactly good with expressing my emotions so..." He trailed off before he placed her down onto her feet and reached up to cup her cheeks between both hands. He slowly leaned in, causing her heart to nearly beat out of her chest and land on the floor. Once his lips were on hers, she closed her eyes.

Nothing in the entire world could have prepared her for this moment. She felt weak in the knees, like she would collapse if he let go of her. She brought her hands up to tangle her fingers in his hair once she got used to the fact of how soft his lips felt against hers. It felt like they were kissing for hours, but it was only a couple minutes before he pulled away and rested his forehead against hers.

"Does that answer any questions you have?" He spoke through a smile, trying his best to catch his breath as she did the same. She could only nod, still in shock over knowing that he did in fact feel the same about her. She wasn't even anything special. Just a girl who blended into the background of everyone's life. Everyone's except Dom's.

She felt a wave of exhaustion wash over her, but didn't want to go to bed and him leave her to go back to the guestroom. She wanted to have him by her side, to wake up and have him sound asleep next to her once again. She missed the feeling of having his arms around her as she slept. "Will you stay with me?"

He nodded and reached out to take her hand before he pulled her along with him over to her bed. They both climbed in and got under the blanket, Dom's arms wrapping tightly around her as if she would disappear at any moment. "Goodnight, Maddie. Get some rest now. I will be here when you wake up. Promise."

"Goodnight, GrungeBob." She mumbled in a sleepy tone before she closed her eyes and fell asleep quickly, her mind not wandering and awake for once.
