The sound of cutlery clinking onto the plates is all that could be heard throughout the Addison's dining room. Mr Addison was sat at the head of the table on the left as his wife, Mrs Addison was sat at the other head of the table on the right. Mr and Mrs Henderson were sat opposite Briar and George as he sat beside her right.

"Briar darling, your parents tell me that you attend the same university as our dear George," Mary Henderson smiled politely at a nervous Briar.

"Y-yes we do," Briar smiled slightly as she felt the burning stare of her mother bore into her. She took a glance at Anastasia Addison who subtly jerked her head towards the kitchen. Briar excused herself as she walked quickly towards the kitchen. Her mother soon entered as she dismissed the staff and closed the door.

"Don't you have any self-respect?" Her mother hissed at her.

"What do you mean?" Briar craned her neck upwards with wide eyes.

"I've had my fair share hickies back in the day sweetie, but at least I had the common sense to cover them up!" Her mother pointed towards Briar's neck as red flooded Briar's entire face.

"Mum!" Briar gasped in surprise. She rushed over towards the fridge where she could see her reflection. On her neck there lay three big red and purple splotches, courtesy of Everett himself. Briar flushed red in embarrassment, but she couldn't help but love the feeling of knowing that he gave her those marks, making her heart swell in her chest.

"I don't want to know who did this to you, so you better get back out there and cover up with something because George was really looking forward to seeing you, and he sees you being the little slut you are!" Her mother hissed out her spiteful words making Briar's eyes fill with tears making her feel pathetic. Mrs Addison walked back outside to the dining room as if nothing happened.

Briar lifted her hand up towards her neck where his marks lay and a small smile made its way onto her face. Everett is upstairs all alone. She instantly remembered her plan of getting out of the dinner and decided to go through with it. Walking back out to the dining room, Briar began coughing and sniffling trying to get some of the people worried about her wellbeing.

"Are you okay, princess?" George asked her with a frown making Briar internally cringe at the nickname coming from the wrong mouth.

"Actually no," Briar began as she approached the table. "I am not feeling the best right now, so I think I will be heading to bed. Mr and Mrs Henderson it was really nice meeting you, I guess I will see you in class George."

Briar began backing away when a hand clamped down onto her wrist making her halt. She turned around to see George smiling widely at her.

"I'll help you if that is alright with you Mr Addison?" George asked her father with a polite smile. Briar's eyes widened as her father nodded with a big grin as the adults went back to gossiping.

"You really don't have to help me," Briar laughed nervously as they began making their way up the spiral staircase. "It could be contagious."

"I'll take my chances," George grinned creepily at her as they stood outside her door.

"Well, thank you for helping me up the stairs, but I think I can manage getting changed," she smiled as she 'accidentally' kicked the door.

"I wouldn't want you fainting on my watch," George joked as he went to open her door making Briar's eyes widen and quickly stand in front of her door.

"NO!" George's eyebrows furrowed in confusion at Briar's odd behaviour. "Sorry, I just don't like people going into my room," Briar emphasised the last few words in hopes that Everett will hear her and get the hint.

"If you aren't feeling well princess, I would rather come in to see if you're alright," George stared at Briar as if challenging her to say no. With much reluctance, Briar opened her door and did a quick scan of the room to make sure that Everett was hidden away.

George took his time looking around the room while Briar grabbed her pyjamas (which was actually joggers and Everett's hoodie), while she also subtly looked around the room for any signs of Everett.

"Well, I'm just going to get dressed in the bathroom," Briar nervously laughed as she scrambled away to her bathroom. She quickly got changed not wanting to leave George alone in her room for too long in case he found something or someone.

"Who's hoodie is that?" George asked with a clenched jaw, trying his best to control his burning anger of seeing Briar in another man's clothes.

"Just a...friends," Briar blushed. George gave her a short nod.

Briar began climbing in her bed as she told George that he should probably leave since she was very tired.

"I will see you soon princess," George said as he bent down and kissed her cheek making Briar squirm uncomfortably. She gave him a small smile and whispered goodnight as he left her room. Briar rushed to her door and locked it before anybody else disturbed her.

The creaking sound of her closet door managed to gain her attention as she turned around and saw none other than Everett Kaine walking out of the walk-in closet. Everett stood in front of her with his hands wound tightly around her waist, holding her body close to him.

"That fucking prick calling my girl my own nickname," Everett scoffed as his eyes blazed with anger.

"If it makes you feel any better," Briar began as she stroked her thumb along Everett's cheek. "I only like it when you call me princess," she whispered so quietly she wasn't even sure he could hear her.

"Yeah?" Everett hummed as he dipped his face down to her level making her breath hitch. She nodded in response.

"I've been waiting to do something all night darling, do you mind if I show you?" Everett asked the girl softly.

"O-okay," Briar whispered back as his face leaned even closer to her.

Everett's lips placed a delicate kiss against her own making waves of shock flow around their bodies. He pulled away to see her reaction. Briar let out a quiet whine as she felt him pull away, desperately wanting more. Everett smirked in response before dipping his face down again and kissing her more passionately. Briar kissed him back eagerly as her hands feathered into his hair.

Everett's hands were holding her hips close to his as he groaned out in pleasure. His tongue licked her bottom lip begging for entrance and she immediately granted him access. He was smiling into the passionate kiss as Briar also grinned at her first ever kiss.

That night, Briar and Everett slept in her bed holding onto each other as they shared innocent kisses here and there. Briar had never felt so safe before until she was laying in Everett's warm embrace. Everett had never felt a feeling so powerful and emotional until he held her small body against his large frame. Together, they felt an indescribable feeling, too many overwhelming feelings to even think about tomorrow or even the fact that someone is out to claim Briar as their own and dispose of Everett. If only they knew that someone was just in her room.
