"Who the fuck would send you roses when I was the only person you told?" Everett spat out his words as he paced his bedroom.

"I'm just as stunned as you are," Briar huffed as she flopped back on his - well their bed. "I have this nagging feeling in the back of my head that I know why those red roses felt so familiar."

"What do you mean, princess?" Everett asked her as she scrunched her face up in concentration.

"I just..." Briar began as she trailed off. "I just feel like there was something so familiar about those red roses. It's something so small, yet I feel like once I get the answer, it's gonna add up to something so big."

Everett was stressed out. He really just didn't know what to do. Briar was stressing herself out by wracking her brain for answers, yet coming up with nothing.

"Maybe we just need to sleep on it, get a fresh mind in the morning," Everett sighed as he climbed into the bed next to his girlfriend.

"Yeah, maybe."

And just like that, the couple closed their eyes as they were tangled in each other's embraces, not really falling asleep as their minds were clouded with thoughts of red roses and signs embedded into doors by knives.

Briar was the first to wake up that morning. She could hear the rain pattering on Everett's window, making her pout at the harsh weather. She slowly turned around to face her boyfriend's beautifully chiselled face. She lifted a pink painted finger and began softly tracing his face. From the creases in his forehead to the chiselled and sharp jawline. She leaned forward and kissed his cheek softly.

She stopped tracing the art that was lying before her as she smelled smoke. She figured that it was Rowan or Bexley attempting to make breakfast. She climbed out of bed and threw on some leggings and Everett's hoodie. She padded out of the bedroom and began walking towards the kitchen, the smell of smoke becoming more clear.

"Row, Bex," she began. "How many times do I have to tell you to leave the cooking to me and Ev?" Her laughing came to a stop as she saw that nobody was in the kitchen. But what was in the kitchen and living room, was multiple large orange flames with black smoke flowing out of them.

A scream erupted from Briar's mouth as she rushed back to the room's to get her friends and boyfriend.

"Everett! Rowan! Bexley!" Briar shrieked as she banged on their doors. "Come on!" She could feel the tears coming to rest in her eyes due to the fear and frustration coursing through her body.

"Baby what is w-" Everett stopped talking as he looked behind her to see the big flames that growing more rapidly. "Fuck!

"What happened?!?" Everett yelled as he rushed over to the tap began spraying water all over the flames. It didn't exactly make a difference since the flames somehow began growing more.

"I don't know! It just started out of nowhere! I could smell smoke and I thought that it was one of the girl's, but it wasn't!" Briar began rambling out of fear.

"What the fuck is all this bullshit shouting about?" Rowan demanded as she strolled through the hallway in her pink booty shorts and black bralette. Her eyes widened as she took in the scene before her. "Shitting fucking hell! Bexley, get your cute arse out here now!"

"What?" Bexley grumbled. She began rubbing her eyes as if to see if this were a dream. Unfortunately, it's not.

"We need to get out of here!" I shouted. We all began running towards the front door, the air in the flat being filled with smoke making it harder to breathe. Everett opened the door and allowed us all to leave first. We all stood outside of the flat as some of the cupboards began falling to the floor making us all jump back in fright.

Bexley rushed over to the fire alarm and quickly pulled it. The deafening sound of the alarm filled the building as other residents began filing out. All of a sudden, firemen began running into the building and straight towards their flat.

They all piled into the burning flat, but one of them turned around to face Briar.

"Briar Addison?" His deep voice questioned.

"Yes?" Her voice was shaky from all the fear and adrenaline pulsing through her.

"The police would like to take you in for some questioning, they're trying to find out who started the fire."

"Someone started the fire?" Rowan asked.

"It was caught on CCTV. However, the person's face isn't revealed. But whoever this person is will most likely go to prison for life for attempted murder."

The fireman's chilling words left the group of four stunned before rushing out of the building. They all stood before the building that had the fire vanishing as the firemen put it out.

"Briar Addison? I would like to take you and your friends down to the station for some questioning to help us figure out who would do something like this. Is that alright with you miss?" The policeman asked the group who all nodded immediately.

Creepy notes with knives sticking them to the door, red roses from a complete stranger who somehow knew she was performing, and now an alleged attempted murder by burning her and her friends alive?

Something just doesn't make sense.
