Alinda Lei; what is ours!

©May 20th 2021, Olan L. Smith

Your embrace, your touch, and your caress,

What joys they convey us this day,

But you're absent, and I'd be remiss

Not to remember you

In our former forms, a life approved.

We still live upon this vessel that orbits

Our sun, the sting of life still

Pricks the veins and our blood flows.

How will we endure this domain,

In our days of agedness?

Look up to the Pleiades and spy

Our home in the heavens,

The heart pumps and courses

Life in hope for more,

Our eternity is near.

We hunger for more than life

More than death, we hunger

For the spirit set aside for us.

We mourn for what was ours,

Writ across the stars, we are more!
