Death
Ireful, spiteful,
Crushing, lacking, nothing,
Silence constantly. Heart transforms,
Beating, being, blessing,
Powerful, merciful,
Life.
A. N. The diamante poem was created by a USA poet Iris Tiedt in 1969, and it requires seven lines of 1,2,3,4,3,2,1 words. The top half is negative and the bottom half is positive charged. Line one is a noun, line two is adjectives, line three uses in –ing end words, and line four is split dividing the diamante into two sections. First two words ends the negative part, and the third word, a noun, is the start of the positive ending, in this case I use "Heart." Then we go in reverse with –ing words, adjectives, and ending the counter balance, Life. If you draw a line between the negative and positive portions of the poem you can create the Yin and Yang symbol rotated 90 degrees, clockwise.
