Tony Pov
So my Mother came over, (well it wasn't like she could have really popped over because of the travel time but you know what I mean here), as she liked to check up on me every now and then, (I guess that was to calm down her motherly instincts or something, but like I'm not an expert here), so I made her dinner, (it was nothing special here but it wasn't burnt, so I took it as a good thing as it was at least somewhat edible).
"How's Daisy?"
"She's doing ok Mum"
"How are you Darling?"
"Yeah I'm alright Mum"
"Are you actually doing alright?"
"Yeah Mum, I'm actually ok, I know that you worry about us sometimes"My Mum just sighed and gave me a massive hug, which confirmed that she was quite worried about me without saying the words for it, which I get because I do take things to heart here, (and I feel terrible about it, even though I couldn't control it).
"Mum you don't have to worry about me so much, you'd be surprised by me actually"
"Why's that Darling?"
"Well, not that it's something massive but I actually jumped in some muddy puddles with Daisy a couple of weeks ago"
"Jesus Tony, what made you do that?"
"She just looked so happy, so I actually got dirty"
"It sounds like it did you both a world of good then"
"It did Mum"So Daisy came into the kitchen, as my Mum was there, and she was finding out when dinner was, (as you do I guess, but don't quote me on that though as I haven't been a 5 year old in a hot minute, ok).
"Hi Daddy"
"Hey Baby"
"How long is it until dinner is ready?"
"It's not too long now Sweetheart"
"Ok Daddy"
"Can you wash your hands for me?"
"I'm on it Daddy"So Daisy went to wash her hands and I finished making us dinner, (as you do I guess), and we all ate dinner together, (which was nice because we didn't get to do it that much, ya know), we didn't really talk that much but I guess that you don't really talk when you eat.
Anyway Mum and I were just sat on the couch, Daisy was getting ready for bed, (since it was a school night for her and she was a little girl who needed all the sleep that she could get here), so Mum and we're chatting, as you do, when she just started to ask some questions.
"What's going through that head of yours Tony?"
"What makes you think that there is anything?"
"Because I know you Darling"
"(Sighs), Well, I know that I can't change anything that happened that night, like I really know that, but I really wish that I could change that Daisy heard everything that night"
"Any parent would want that Darling, I know that doesn't change how you feel, and it might not even ease anything, but it's ok to feel that"Yeah, that was really deep and I didn't know how to feel about that, but I could also see where my Mum was coming from, wether I liked it or not, so I did just suck it up at that moment for my Mum's sake, (I just pondered on it later on instead, but that's a discussion for another day).
"I do know that Mum"
"Then allow yourself some space to feel that Darling, it'll do you some good"
"Ok Mum, I will do"
"I'm going to go home now-"
"Are you going to be ok with driving at this time of the night?"
"It's not too bad to drive-"
"Mum, you can stay if you want to"
"I don't want to overstay my welcome-"
"I wouldn't have offered if I didn't want you to stay tonight"
"Alright so Darling"Daisy came back down the stairs, (well it was almost like she bounced down the stairs), but I couldn't really do much as she was just happy that her Nan was here, (plus it did no harm to any of us here), Mum then went up to bed, (though I can vouch that driving down from Manchester could be tiring).
"Daddy Daddy Daddy"
"Yeah Baby"
"Can you read to me please?"
"Sure Sweetheart, what do you want to read tonight?"
"Hmm, Grandma and the pirates"
"Ok Baby, have you brushed your teeth?"
"Yes I have"
"Alrighty then, let's go up to bed then"So we went upstairs to Daisy's room, I read the book to her, Daisy then fell asleep and so I just tucked her in and went to finish cleaning up after dinner, (though tucking in a sleeping 5 year old is fucking hard and you can not tell me otherwise).
