Please. - C
No. - J
They had been arguing for almost an hour now with Cory on the begging side and Joanne on the adamant side.
To hell with the dinner date, take Amanda. - J
I can't do that. You're literally my girlfriend. Don't you think it'd be a little odd to take her and besides we have a deal. - C
Going to dinner dates, with your father, in your house, just us three, was not part of the deal. - J
It's not just us three. Amanda, her dad and my dad's mistress will be there. - C
More reasons for me not to go. - J
Joanne sat at her desk phone in hand and brought out the second draft for their English project. She was making minor adjustments to it while chatting with Cory on the phone.
Oh c'mon. - C
If Amanda is already going you can just make it look like you went together then ditch her after the dinner. - J
If I do go there - at all, then it's sure that the engagement would be sealed and we would be getting married. Not to mention that Amanda will be forcing herself on me the entire time. - C
Well isn't that wonderful? - J
Joanne stopped writing in her note to fully concentrate on chatting with Cory.
I'm not going you'll figure something out like you always do. - J
Bye. - J
Joanne switched off her wifi connection immediately and set her phone aside. The English essay had been pending for a while.
The initial goal was to finish it early so she would have time for other things but a certain someone kept disrupting that and now she had to do it. There was just three days left before they resumed.
...by amending these things I'm sure the US will be the safest, peaceful and greatest nation there is. Thank you.
The essay was finally done. Joanne heaved a sigh of relief as she closed the note. She wished she could scold Cory.
No.
Joanne stopped her wishful thinking, there was no point in scolding him anymore. The essay was perfect on its own and he had done his part in making small corrections. Not to mention that no amount of scolding could get through Cory's thick skull.
A smile crept its way to her lips. She had been thinking about Cory a lot and smiling at that. Joanne felt as though she was getting close to him. Too close.
The smile on her lips faded. She knew he would end up leaving just like everyone else. Joanne smiled again. Then that was good news. Cory would leave by himself. It was just a matter of time.
The warm water teemed down her body, massaging her with its tenderness and relaxing her contracted muscles. The goodness of the water was boring its way through her body. Healing her and making her feel whole again. The tingling sensation she got made it even more alluring and pleasurable.
Joanne stepped out of the bath and wore her casual clothing. Except today she was wearing a pair of mom jeans and some light makeup. Both of which she had gotten from Laura's room. After seeing Chloe dress up like a college student, Joanne thought it wasn't so bad after all. She blushed. Of course this had nothing to do with Cory. It was more of her wanting to wear whatever she wanted and look pretty for a change of pace.
Joanne walked elegantly down the stairs. She was wearing slip-ons but they did the job well. Cory met her gaze and he was bedazzled by the transformed Joanne standing in front of him, not to mention her mom and sister.
