"And break!" A voice blared through the headset over my ears and I sighed in relief and flopped backwards into my chair. My teammates were doing the same, pushing themselves away from their stations and getting up to stretch, though some like me stayed in our chairs. I rubbed my eyes, thankful I didn't have to stare at my computer monitor anymore.

"Those were some hard scrims," groaned Wakamatsu. He was one of our support players on the team, and with his best character banned for the upcoming tournament, he was having it rough playing his weaker ones.

"The Spark's looking pretty good honestly," I agreed. "We're going to have a lot of competition this tourney." The Seirin Spark team formed only last year but they went all the way to the semifinals playing a unique composition. This year however, they had signed in two new people by the gamertags of R3dT1g3r and Phantom who just came fresh out of the Academy League. The performance of their team had drastically improved already.

"D-Do you really think those new players can change the team that much?" asked Sakurai from his station, seeming to read my thoughts. He and I were always in sync when it came to thinking about other teams and analyzing them.

"Honestly, it depends," Susa said thoughtfully. "Before, their best player seemed to be Ironheart but now they're making the entire focus of their team to work around those new players. It's a big change for them so it's on them if they can get the synergy or not."

That was also why I wanted to work harder for this tournament more than any we've had in the past. A lot of the other teams had signed in new and exceptional players like R3dT1g3r and Phantom, and if it ever came to us playing against the Spark, I knew I'd have a big responsibility in marking at least one of the new duo.

"Hey Coach." I waved to our head coach, Harasawa. "I wanted to ask you about—"

A loud squeal from the other side of the room cut me off and I jumped in surprise. "What happened?" I called over to Momoi. She was the youngest and only female assistant coach in the entire League. It was actually her suggestion to sign me into Tōō after my contract finished with the Kaijo Knights.

"(F/n)!" Momoi's head jerked up from looking down at her phone. Her eyes shone and she smiled brightly. "Have you seen the new rumors about you?"

"Huh?" I blinked, taken aback. People were making rumors about me? There were always those kinds of things in the community but this was the first time I heard anything specifically about me.

"What rumors?" I asked her.

Momoi practically leapt over towards me and thrust her phone into my hands. "It's about you and Daiki!"

"This should be good." smirked Captain Imayoshi. He leaned back in his chair, hands clasped behind his head.

I shot him a playful glare and then began to read out loud.

"Rumors are circulating that Tōō Dynasty players (F/n) '(Username)' (L/n) and Daiki 'Ace' Aomine are dating. Avid fans of the two's possible relationship have coined the pair with the ship name (Ship/Name). These speculations are not baseless; fans have been quick to supply various screenshots and pictures where the two have had 'wholesome' moments that seem to have more going on than just friends. We have gathered some examples below."

Stunned by what I just read, I looked up at Momoi with wide eyes. "What?! Where did this come from??!"

I heard Imayoshi laughing as I kept scrolling through the article to see the pictures. Most of them were me and Aomine high-fiving and smiling at each other after match wins—not surprising since we sat next to each other during matches—and then a few where we were hugging or his arm was around my shoulders in pure delight when we won last year's grand finals.
