I giggled at the words of the black haired male walking next to me, who was sighing over his annoying yet treasured friend Bokuto Kotaro. I nudged his shoulder playfully.

"Come on Akaashi. You're the only one who can tolerate him," I said.

He gave me one of his small yet charming smiles. "That's fair." He looked up at the sign of the street we were on and said, "There's a new café nearby I wanted to try. Do you want to get a drink? I could use some onigiri too." He mumbled the last bit to himself, making me chuckle.

"Sure!"

We took a turn and walked down the street. It was a lazy weekend afternoon and there weren't many people around. Those that were out were mostly younger children looking to play at the park or couples going on dates.

Speaking of couples, many people often thought Akaashi was my boyfriend, even when we were hanging out with his friends from Fukurodani Academy. But I knew that he would only ever be an older brother to me. We weren't romantically interested in each other and had no plans to be anything other than friends or act like close siblings. It was a big disappointment to Bokuto who kept trying to set me up with his best friend.

Halfway down the street, we bumped into a familiar redhead I knew from Rakuzan High School.

"(F/n)." Akashi nodded his greeting to me, then eyeing the taller boy by my side. "And who might this be?"

"Oh!" I said, turning to my serious friend beside me, "Akaashi, this is my classmate Akashi. Akashi, this is Akaashi," I introduced. "He's my tutoring partner at the library."

Akashi raised his eyebrow, his lips pursed in a thin line. "He shares the same name as me?" His heterochromatic eyes flashed as he looked disapprovingly at Akaashi, who returned the stare calmly.

"No," I said quickly, not liking Akashi's challenging expression one bit. "He has an extra letter in his name. The kanji is different, I'm pretty sure."

He nodded slightly, seeming to be satisfied with that. "It will be confusing to call us both by our last names though," he said.

Akaashi nodded his agreement and looked over at me questioningly. Akashi did have a point. Talking to both of them at the same time would be a nightmare if there wasn't a way to differentiate their names in spoken conversation.

"I guess I could call Akaashi Keiji-chan." I gave Akaashi a shy smile.

Despite being a year older than me, Akaashi said it was fine to be a bit informal with him. But when I told him that he could call me by my first name he insisted on staying respectful to me and calling me (L/n)-san, saying that as my superior he could address me however he wanted. Not even (F/n)-san was good enough for him to stop being so formal.

"That is unacceptable," Akashi said, crossing his arms over his chest, "unless he was a child."

"I'm seventeen," Akaashi put in, holding the shorter boy's gaze as they had another mini staring contest.

I looked between them, mentally sighing at their childishness. "Maybe Aka-chan? Sei-chan?" I darted a glance to Akashi as I said possible names to call him by. I groaned in frustration. "Can't we figure this out later?"

"That's fine," Akaashi said. He looked at Akashi and then back at me. "Can we go now? I'd like my onigiri."

"Yeah, sorry," I said, and turned to Akashi. "It was ni—"

"Where are you going?" Akashi butted in before I could continue what I was saying. "(F/n)'s house?"

"A café," Akaashi answered him coolly. "Please excuse us."

"She's busy right now actually," the other male said matter of factly. "Come on (F/n)."

"No I'm no—" I started to protest but Akashi gripped my wrist firmly and started tugging me away from Akaashi.

"Akashi!" I tried to pry off his fingers but they didn't budge. I huffed, letting him drag me along. I slapped his wrist lightly, biting my tongue back in annoyance.

"It's Seijuro now," he said, his eyes still focused ahead of us.

"What?!" I exclaimed, caught off guard. My cheeks exploded into a dark blush. "I can't call you that! People will think we're dating."

"That's simply because we are."

"Since when?!"

Akashi flicked his other wrist, pretending to check his watch. "Since approximately five seconds ago."

"Do I not get a say in this?"

"Do you reciprocate my feelings?"

I was silent for a few moments, my cheeks puffed out stubbornly before I admitted grudgingly, "Yes. . ."

"Then it's settled."

"I hate you." I glared at the back of his head, as if I could somehow gain control of his mind and make him let go of me. It didn't work.

"I'd say your pulse says otherwise." Akashi's lips curled into a smile as he looked back at me. It was then when I realized his fingers were wrapped around my wrist in a way that would press the tips of them against my racing pulse. I blushed and looked away, pouting.

"S-Shut up. . ." I muttered, which only made him chuckle. "At least let go of me."

"Alright." He let go of my wrist and I rubbed it, giving him a glare in mock anger. His smile disappeared and he looked at me worriedly. "Did I hurt you?" He asked, a touch of concern in his voice.

"No." I shook my head and gave him a reassuring smile. I held his hand gently, giving it a small squeeze. "But if you do that again then I'll kill you."

He blinked and went quiet for a few moments. "Fair enough," he said with a shrug.

My phone started to ring and I let go of Akashi's hand to answer it. "Hello?"

"(L/n)-san." It was Akaashi. "Are you okay? Did I just witness a kidnapping?"

I was extremely close to facepalming myself. But I think this required something stronger, like a facepalm where you smack yourself really hard.

"No Akaashi. I didn't get kidnapped," I deadpanned.

"So I don't need to call the police?"

"No!" I shouted a bit too loudly. Akashi looked at me weirdly. I blushed and cleared my throat, speaking in a calmer tone. "Sorry about that though. We can go to the café another time."

Akashi narrowed his eyes, clearly communicating his dislike at what I said, but I just ignored him.

"It's okay," Akaashi said. "Oh, I see Bokuto-san." Faintly I could hear Bokuto's signature 'Hey, hey, hey!' in the background. He must have noticed Akaashi too. "I'll ask him if he wants to come with me. See you next week."

"Bye Akaashi." I ended the call and Akashi took my hand and we started walking again.

"Where are we going?" I asked him.

"Isn't it obvious? We're going on a date."

"That was a weird way to ask me out," I pointed out, trying to hold in my laughter.

"But it worked," Akashi said shortly. "Don't question my methods."

This time I couldn't keep myself together, laughing out loud at his words. He glared at me, pouting, but that just made me laugh even more. "You're funny when you're jealous Seijuro," I said once I calmed down from my fit of giggles.

He looked at me, almost offended. "I was not jealous. That volleyball trash just got in the way of my plans."

"Akaashi isn't trash!" I defended, but then I smiled at him, chuckling. "I think I'm going to have fun being your girlfriend."

He smiled back at me, though it was more of a smirk than a smile. "I'll definitely make it worth your while."
