When I think of the Duke, I think of this dude, Andy Serkis. I've been trying to find his face for weeks then I saw him in the trailer of The Batman lol. Can't wait to watch that. I rlly want to. No spoilers bih. Anyway... Yeah. There was this one movie where he freaked me tf out, I think it was his role as Klaue (just googled that spelling) in Black Panther I first really saw him. So umm... Why am I still typing? Yeah. He's kinda fine ngl~

Louis wasn't in the mood for ball-ing. He wasn't in the mood to hear the orchestral music and be around a crowd and fear that he might break something or bump into someone with every step. He only managed to force himself out of his funk and go because first off, Liam called to remind him and second, Harry might need him. So he put on a suit, grateful that at least the rest were there and he could hang out with them. Poor Harry, on the other hand was probably going to get swarmed after all his years of absence the moment he appeared.

"Hello, ladies, you two look quite happy. Did we get lucky?" Zayn playfully shoved Louis as Liam hid his face, answering the question. Louis arched both brows and muttered, "damn guys, I was just kidding but good for you. Zayn, you doing okay?"

"Well, other than the fact that I remember quite a number of these bastards being dicks to me, I'm fine. Besides, my life is better than any of theirs could ever be."

"Damn straight-"

"It's you I'm worried about. Well, you we are worried about. Harry too, of course, but we won't be able to reach him till after this shitshow's over." Zayn looked him over and Liam nodded quickly, stepping to his side for a quick hug. Eww, they really were their parents. Louis forced a smile and muttered that he was going to be okay and it was just a day.

"Are you sure? Because umm, as it turns out according to Zayn who slipped up there to check on Hazz, he's not coming in alone." It took Louis only a second to register what that meant and his expression immediately soured.

"Well, whatever. Where's Niall. I wanna go ransack the buffet table with him. Might as well, free food and all." Harry would be happy to hear he wanted to eat. If he could just get the boy out of his thoughts for more than five minutes, dammit.

"Haven't seen him yet, actually but when he slips in, I'm sure he'll find you there all on his own." Niall poked his head into the ballroom for a moment some minutes later, smiling wistfully when he saw Liam and Zayn in a corner, dancing around. He thought about diving in to disrupt them but they looked so happy together and he felt a sudden pang in his chest, turning his head away just in time to crash into someone.

"Oh. It's you. They let you in here?"

"Oh wow, the great, arrogant Eleanor Caulder is actually speaking to me, to what do I owe the displeasure?" She blinked for a moment and Niall noticed she was leaning to the side. She didn't seem to realise till she was quite literally tipping over and he grabbed her shoulder, leading her to a bench.

"I'm drunk, that's why. Blame it on... Well, someone you don't need to know."

"Ah. Yeah, that's definitely enough information for me to help you, thanks a bunch." She scoffed when he mentioned helping her and he rolled his eyes. Somehow, between going in there to food, music and his friends and sitting with Eleanor for a bit, the latter had him curious enough to keep him rooted to the spot. "Well, as for me, my friends are busy slow dancing and loving it up in a corner and I'm in no mood to third wheel right now. Of course, you remember Liam and his giant arms. He's busy giggling his head off right now because of Zayn."

"I wonder what that's like," came both with nearly perfect synchronicity. They glanced at each other and turned away.

"You have such a cute face. What does an Irish moan sound like? Especially when it's muffled cos there's a very dominating woman grinding on top of you? Just curious-"
