Kim Joo Won arrived at the party in one of the function halls in school. It was put up by the most popular athletes and celebrities in the University. Parties were not his thing because he just always felt different from his peers.
Not only did he like studying and reading his books on Economics, Business, Operations Management and Marketing Strategies, but he was treated differently because it was no secret that his father was a chaebol.
For him, it meant making friends was difficult because Kim Joo Won was always on the lookout for whether a person really wanted to be a friend or simply needed something to be funded.
Kim Joo Won exerted a lot of effort to not roll his eyes at the rowdy party he found himself in. They needed money for the children's charity so he agreed to go, do the bidding and then leave.
But, as he tried to make himself blend in with the walls, he saw her walk in.
Her.
He first saw her one Friday when he was headed home. The Kim family had a big celebration for the most recent acquisition by his father that increased the family's net worth by a few billion won and there would be a media coverage of the celebration so Joo Won needed to be there. The chauffeur picked him up from the Economics building and headed out the main University entrance.

At first, he thought she must be a fairy or an angel because that beautiful face could simply not be human. But she didn't vanish from his sight. He kept on staring at her and saw a guy walk up and chat her up. She seemed to be waiting for him.
What a lucky man, he thought.
Now, there she was again. The scant lights of the hall seeming to follow her around as she mingled with the people present at the party. Kim Joo Won stood a distance away from her but whenever she smiled, he couldn't help but smile along with her.
Yoon Se-Ri.
He didn't even get her name directly from her. He just heard it from the whispers of the people around and deduced which one was hers.
Because he was alone, he didn't find an opportunity to introduce himself to her. When the bidding was done and his donation logged, he made his way out of the venue. People were bumping into each other and he had to squeeze himself out from schoolmates who now had breath that smelled like alcohol, raising their hands to go along with the music, which meant that he was sometimes faced with smelly armpits.
Kim Joo Won encountered a particularly terrible one that he had to duck and push his head out to finally reach outside... but that move made him bump head on to someone who was making their way inside.
