"You need to have that checked."

Dae-sik turned away from his reflection to stare at his colleague. "Excuse me?"

"It doesn't look like a normal burn. Best to get it checked before it gets worse," Agent Hwang said, his head motioning to the sun burns on Agent Dae-sik's face.

Looking at his nose and cheek and gently touching the angry red splotches, Dae-sik agreed. "Yeah but I don't know a good skin doctor here."

Agent Hwang pulled a card from his wallet. "Here. My wife goes to check with her once in awhile. Maybe you should also ask Dra. Cha if she could do something about your looks."

Dae-sik was taken aback. Checking his image again, he asked his colleague, "Why? What's wrong?!"

Sure, he wasn't that interested in his physical appearance since most of his cases needed him to be on the streets anyway and his last assignment brought him to the middle of the desert.

Sure, he wore tattered clothes, had a few days growth on his face and his hair was unkempt and still had some sand within some strands but Dae-sik didn't think he looked THAT bad. Some room for improvement, sure; bad, no.

Dae-sik called the clinic, not wanting to delay because if he didn't do so now, he would probably never get around to it. Luckily, he could be accommodated, thanks to the recommendation from Agent Hwang's wife.

Due to the traffic, the cab he was in was stuck on the road for half an hour before Dae-sik decided to walk the rest of the way. "Thank you but I'll get off here." Wearing his fisherman's hat to somehow shield him from the rain that started pouring, Dae-sik treaded the streets on this rainy Seoul night.

Arriving at the clinic, Dae-sik immediately felt out of place. The place was pristine with its white and grey palette with pops of indian pink and powder accents, plants placed in white ceramic pots and gold planters, marble floors, some mist spraying that made the room smell nice, and a white leather couch that looked more expensive than his annual salary as an agent would afford.

Dae-sik looked at the receptionist apologetically as he messed up the clean floor with his boots and the mud it brought along. "Good evening. I have an appointment with Dr. Cha?"

The tap of high heeled shoes were heard from the back office before he got a glimpse of perfectly toned legs, a lean body and the most beautiful face he has ever laid eyes on. "Are you Agent Hwang's colleague?" she asked, smiling at him.

Bumbling a yes, he nodded quickly while he took off his ratty hat. "Dae-sik," he said, extending a hand.

"Cha Mi-jo," the doctor shared accepting the handshake.

Her hands in his felt nice. Really nice.

"I, uh, my... uh skin. Burn. Check," he said. Apparently, that handshake also erased words he learned all his life.

Dipping her head, Dr. Cha gave him a sideways look and asked, "Shall we head to my room?"

Dae-sik gulped. "Room?"

Dr. Cha blushed. "The treatment room so I can check your skin?"

"Oh. Right. Of course."

Dae-sik hit himself on the forehead. As the doctor handed him forms he had to fill out, he added in "Other Remarks" : Not a creep.

Seeing that, Dr. Cha laughed. "Well, we'll see about that."
