Chapter 2: Devil
Jess hugs me from behind as I was getting some papers from the printer in the library. "Hey good looking." He kisses my cheek. "I'm so happy you are my girlfriend. I noticed you didn't see my text."
I look down at my cellphone in my hand. I haven't switched it back on since last night. I look up at him. "What did it say?"
"I just said. I will treat you like a princess promise. Or something corny like that." He chuckles.
"So cheesy. How many girls have you said that to?"
"Many, but you are the only one I meant it to." He lets go of me, and stands by me. "Let me help you." He gathers up the sheets in the printer, and hands them to me. "Is this for Korean?" He looks at the papers that were filled with charts of Korean phrases.
"It is." I smiled looking at his busy hands taking piece by piece, and hands them to me. "Even though I am Japanese, I choose to take this. Silly huh?"
"Not at all. I wanted to take Japanese, and I'm a London boy. How weird is that?" He chuckles. I always noticed his heavy British accent. I found it incredibly attractive, and I could listen to him talk for hours. I found it funny when he sings, he automatically sounds American just like that popular boy band One Direction.
I clipped the papers together once I was done. I looked over at him, and noticed he was already glancing at me. "Jess, I can teach you some Japanese. The professor here is kind of weird."
"How so?" He flashes his gentle smile. I could sense, and see his happiness. Yet I wasn't completely happy like he is. I feel so guilty.
"Well he's just weird. He is interesting though."
"Then I might consider unless you want to teach me." He chuckles while he brushes a piece of my hair out of my face. I blushed at his sudden actions.
"Maybe." I look down blushing like an idiot.
"So cute you are. I got to head off to class. See you in a bit." He pulls my body close to his, and I could feel the warmness of his lips on my forehead. He releases me, and jets off into his class. I gave him a smile along with a wave to accompany his leave.
I went about to my Korean class hoping to bump into Samantha. I saw her outside the classroom checking her makeup in her little portable Hello Kitty mirror. I remember giving that to her for her birthday. It made me smile that she still uses it over all her fancy portable makeup mirrors.
"Hey Sammie!" I wave, and stroll off towards her. "So....Jess is now..."
"Boyfriend?!" She shoves the mirror in her bag, and grabs both my shoulders.
I cheese a bit, and nodded. She screams "Ahhhh!" Everyone looked at her like she was a freak, but we were lost in our own fantasy world of boys, love, and just girly things.
"You got to tell me more about how this happened after school." She drags me in the classroom.
"I will I will." I sigh with a smirk. She's so happy for me, yet I still felt weird being with Jess.
I went to sit at my desk, and felt myself coughing excessively. I had that little tickle like feeling in my throat that wouldn't go away. What made it worse was the fact that I didn't bring my water bottle with me. I had to use the school's fountain which I dreaded. Those fountains never seem sanitary enough for my liking.
"Be right back." I said in between coughs. Samantha nods, and chuckles at my misfortunate throat.
I picked up my bag, and quickly made my way out the door.
