Chapter 10: Strange

Today was particularly hot. I could feel my forehead getting sticky as I entered the building. I wish that it would be colder. The hot warm air really got me feeling lazier.

I sat in Korean class as I worked on the work pages the professor assigned. I peek over at Samantha, who was passing notes with Kevin. I guess it was easier than texting since they sat next to each other. I prefer texting, but the professor had a good eye for cellular devices being used. Old school is better.

I look over to Angel, who was looking out the window. His mind seemed heavy. I wonder what is on his mind. Probably his girlfriend. I went back to my work. That sunken feeling in my chest came back. I can't keep lingering. It will only hurt me more in the end. Why are female feelings so dramatic, and complicated?

~~~~~~
Class finally came to an end, and I quickly gather up my materials. I wipe the sweat off my forehead. I hate having bangs at this point. Everything felt so disgusting.
I rub my eyes, and walk on over to the exit of the classroom. I saw Samantha, and Kevin leaving to the cafe they always went to after Korean class.
Those two have been so infatuated with each other that I hardly speak to them anymore. It started to feel lonely, but I didn't want to be that bitch that gets jealous, and causes problems between them. I left them be. You know, in thier puppy dog love days before things really start to get complicated.
"Alice." The all too familiar voice I love so much said. I turn around to see Angel holding my Hello Kitty pencil case. I must of left it in the class room. He puts out his hand towards me with my case on top of his palm.
"Thanks." I give a small smile, and took the case from him.
He blinks a couple times. "You're welcome. Is everything okay?"
"Yes. The heat is just getting to me." I wasn't lying. The heat was so bad that it even made me lose all my nervousness when speaking to Angel. I was too focused on the heat to react.
"I think they are selling some frozen things in the cafeteria." He forms a small smirk.
My eyes widen. "Then I will check it out. See you." I walk off quickly. I didn't want to make small talk. I knew the more I did, the more I will fall for him. I did not want to fall into that right now.
I sprinted so quickly that I bumped into Fumi. He catches me by my shoulders. "Whoa there champ." He chuckles.
"Sorry." I kept my head down in embarrassment.
"Why are in you such a hurry there hm?" His brow arched, and a small smile appear on his lips.
Should I tell him the truth? I don't even know if he knows how deeply I like Angel. "I was..." I decided to spill my guts. What's the harm? I mean, Angel already knows how I feel. "I was trying to avoid Angel."
"Ah I see. Trying to move on eh?"
"Yes. He has a girlfriend, and they seem very much in love. I can't interfere. That would make me look bad. I have all respects to his girlfriend."
His eyes parted wider. "Wow, very mature thinking. Most girls would talk shit." He chuckles.
"I know, but that won't help me in my situation. I don't hate her. She is genuinely really sweet." I sigh. "I don't see much flaw in her at all to be honest."
"Oh she has flaws alright. Just not the common ones everyone can see with the naked eye." He winks.
"Huh? What do you mean?" I look up in curiosity.
