Chapter 17: Perfection
Angel has gotten much nicer. I didn't know what made him change, but I didn't care. I like the way he is now.
He looks at me from across the table. We were having lunch, but I was a little short of money.
"Here." He hands me one of his salad wraps.
I look down at my measly salad. I had to buy the small one since I didn't have the money. I need to really get a job soon.
"Thank you, but I am okay." I smiled at him.
"Just take it. I'm full anyway." He smiles.
I took it knowing he only lied about being full just to satisfy my hunger. It is moments like these that I can't stop loving him. I smile at him, and took a generous bite. It tasted delicious. Maybe because he gave it to me.
"Thank you Angel. You are the best." I blush madly.
He forms a small smile. "Thank you. It's nice that you say that about me."
"Hey. Since when did you two started sitting together?" Samantha came to sit down next to me.
"Well today I guess." I look down shyly.
"Hi." He says to her.
"Hey." She said awkwardly. I could tell she wasn't fond of Angel. I guess she still hates him for how he treated me. I told Samantha everything.
"I can leave." He says.
"No, you good." She replies. "Alice, I think Jesse was looking for you."
Angel's eyes immediately shot towards me.
"What did he want?" I asked Samantha.
"He dumped...you know who. I think he wants you again."
"You shouldn't." Angel interrupts.
"Why do you care?" Samantha shots.
"Because he was using someone to get over someone."
"Wouldn't you?" I decided to ask.
"No. I try not to ever do that." His eyes serious.
I didn't question him. I felt he was being honest. Angel didn't seem like the type that would use another just to get over Machi. I am sure he had that urge as anyone else would, but he didn't act upon it, and I had full respect towards him because of that.
"I'll still talk to him. I am curious on what he wants to say."
"Good. He's driving me nuts." Samantha sighs.
Angel kept quiet, and I knew he wouldn't utter another word after that.

I met with Jesse after my classes. He was sitting by the lake. I went over to stand next to him, and he smiles.
"Have a seat." He pats the bench next to him.
I sat down. "What's up?" I asked.
"I can't forget about you...I know it was wrong to date another girl to get over you. I left her to seek you. Is that okay?" He asked shyly as his eyes fixated on his fiddling hands, and fingers.
"I can't. Jesse I went out with you for the same reason. I don't want to be a hypocrite."
He grabs my hand. "Alice please think about it. I will be the best boyfriend you could ever ask for."
I shook my hand off. "Stop it. I can't. I already have my mind focused on someone else."
"He doesn't even love you."
