Lin's POV:

I wasn't looking forward to the next couple days. Maybe weeks or months. However long this case and trial went

I had filed against Camelia and now we had a court session. After she had lied to me about Lucy, hadn't told me she was my daughter. Then had kidnapped and has physically harmed me. A trial was very needed

Lucy was beside me. Vanessa too. My parents were watching Seb and Sisco. I asked Lucy if she wanted to join them but she had insisted she come with me. She didn't want to leave me. This honestly made me realize how lucky i was to have an amazing daughter, and amazing family in general.

So we got ready and headed to the courtroom. I prayed Camelia would be kept in prison and not be let out again. If she did who knows what she would do

I saw her cold gaze and tried keeping calm. I felt Vanessa gently grab my hand. And Lucy hug my other arm. Both of them right beside me to provide me with reassurance

"Court session to begin. Lin-Manuel Miranda and group may speak first" the judge said

I sighed shakily. I had to make my claim, I had to tell the story again. I didn't want to. I had to. I took a deep breath
"Camelia...when she took me. She held my neck till i went unconscious. When I woke again I was in her house. She did horrific things to me. Had me tied and bound so I couldn't do anything...."

I felt Vanessa's hand on my back gently rubbing my back as I continued. Feeling safe with V there

"I remember being in pain and traumatized with fear. It was a miracle I was found when I was..." I shuddered. My hand rubbing my neck as I leaned against V a bit

The judge nodded and looked to Lucy "and a few days before you found out Lin was your biological father and Camelia your biological mother correct?"

Lucy nodded. She still hugged my arm. She hadn't let go

The judge nodded "do you believe your father is telling the truth? Is his story he told true?"

Lucy nodded "of course. Its true. He wouldn't lie about something so serious"

The judge nodded. He wrote down notes and looked to Camelia "Camelia, do you have a side in this story?"

Camelia smirked and I felt myself becoming uncomfortable.
"I didn't mean to harm him. I missed him was all" she clearly lied

The judge sighed "so you admit then you harmed him?"

Camelia nodded "yes. I did"

The judge nodded "and did you assault in any other form besides physical?"

She shook her head "i did not" she answered the question

I stayed quiet. I was nervous how this would all end up. What if the court rules in favor for Camilla? What if Lucy was taken from me? Clearly Camilla hadn't been good to my daughter. Lucy belonged with me

In the end we received the court's decision

"The court and judge has ruled in favor of Camilla and Camilla has gained custody of Lucy Miranda"

I felt my heart break with defeat and sadness. My little Lucy was being taken from me. I had lost the trial. Who knows what Camilla could do next? There had to be a mistake. Surely there had to be.

Lucy was crying as she clung to me. I hugged her tight but sadly had to hand her to Camilla. "I'm so sorry mija...call me, text me when you need me..." I mumbled.

What confused me was how Camilla won. Were these judges mad? Didn't they have the reports of my injuries from the medical centers? And papers from other various rehabs i had needed?

I felt Camilla take Lucy from my arms. Vanessa was upset and holding me. My world crumbled in that moment and I had no clue what to say or how to even react...

Vanessa got me home and I went to our bedroom. Closing the door as I just needed space to think. I think V knew that cause she let me be. I eventually felt her hands on my shoulders though

"V...why did they favor her? And why did they allow Lucy to go with her? She abandoned my daughter. She shouldn't be allowed custody..."

"We'll get Lucy back and I'll be sure Camilla is eventually put in prison. As a lawyer I will do all I can..." she promised me. Gently squeezing my shoulders before she sat beside me and held me again

I leaned into her and nodded. I was still upset. It was evident in my personality now. I was usually positive and happy. But now I was just upset and hurt by what had happened earlier. My mind only on one thought though. My daughter
