Missing Shikamaru Part 3 (shikaneji)

Shikamarus pov

I rubbed the back of my neck, exhausted after that mission. All I wanted to do now is go home and sleep-

"daddy!" I was takled to the ground by my boyfriend neji. He clung to my chest and started crying.

"hey what's this all about" I muttered in confusion.

"nejis been pretty upset since you left" naruto came up to me with a awkward smile "I've been taking care of him since hinata was worried her father would... you know" he narrowed his eyes. I understood what he was trying to say.

"thanks for taking care of him naruto" I turned to neji "darling there's no need to cry. I'm back now"

"your not going to lweave again are you" he whimpered.

"I can't promise that sweetheart but I can promise that no matter what I'll always come back" I said kissing his forehead.

"ok" he nodded as he snuggled into my chest. I held him protectively as I thought of all the things that could have happened him if hinata and naruto weren't around. Those thoughts terrified me.

"I love you my baby boy" I whispered as we held each other close.
